Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

What will win US National Championship 2010-2011 ?

The deck that will win 2011 Nationals is called 2012 but pronounce it twenty-twelve. A buddy of mine created it so I can't take credit for it but he gave me his list and told me that when I win with it to make sure that name goes with it.

I'm sure you wouldn't give more information on what it actually is...

Personally, I would be surprised if rogue wins. Rogue doesn't win US nationals just because of the immense amounts of decks being played.

LuxApe won Nationals. At the time, I believe Pooka was the only person playing the deck. Thank him for the format of the last couple of years.

If I was to pick any deck out there, I'd have to say it would be MagneBoar because it has a lot going for it to the point that some people are calling it the "next coming of Metanite". DonChamp is another deck that has a lot for it too, so it will probably be one of those two. Though I do have to say though, there is a lot that we probably looked over, it's a pretty open field out there for possible decks.

LostGar is rather inconsistant, and with RDL taking 6 prizes in 3 turns, it will be really hard for lostgar

The idea is to LZ their RDL pieces before they get both of them in hand... It's not that hard. Yes, you basically lose if they get RDL out, but if you LZ a piece via Mime Jr. or Hurl, that threat disappears. Generally, people end up holding one piece before they manage to get the other, making it vulnerable to Hurl.

idk what lists people are playing to say that mewgar/lost gar is inconsistant since almost ALL of your pokemon have free retreat..

^^its inconsistent only because you lose a pokemon nearly every turn
while i agree that magneboar is about a 1:2 favorite to win US nats, I think that it more than many other decks will suffer greatly from the release of pokemon catcher sometime next season. So much like LuxChomp last year, this will probably be the last year for magneboar to make a strong nats/worlds showing

I'm not sure what will win this year but it will be interesting to see considering that we haven't had as much time to prepare for this new format!

A good player said to me and couple others:

"Those Americans just don't get it. Magneboar can't match a well built zekrom, not with those lists at the moment. My opinion, top 16 will be 13 zekroms and 3 reshiram variants."

MY opinion is that a SD takes the even, or goes to top 4. Zekrom will be at top 4, so will magneboar.

Look this is what i believe is going to be top four. 1.Reshiboar with rayquaza deoxys 2. magneboar 3. some complete rogue deck or some deck that was good but we didnt know it would be that good and 4. zekrom

Really?

I just don't see it. Zekrom has great early game, but horrible later game and mediocre midgame, at best. It completely relies on Reversal luck, as well. I don't see it doing well.

Of course, this discussion would be ENTIRELY different if we had Catcher.

^Ya, Zekrom would be so much better with catcher.

Or, if you knew they were playing LostGar, you won't hold one piece, intead have a search card like Communication in your hand, wait to Magnetic Draw to get the other piece, then play it down.

And you can Reversal to get around Mime Jr. too.
