What's a Good Fixative for Sharpie/Prismacolor?

Hey guys! Just finished my custom playmat, and I'm wondering what would be good for setting the colors, and protecting the imade from smudge and fading. I heard hairspray would work, but I'm not very sure about that.

Also, is there anything I can put on it to protect it from stains?
