I've been gone since May of this year and I've been wondering whats new in tcg world.

This i really want to know are: any new rules, deck combos, any new packs out.

Yeah actually, we have had MD out in May, dunno if you know that or not. And, there will be like 3 weeks of prereleases for the new set, LA, starting this upcoming saturday.

Well, decks aren't too valid, as we have set rotation in a week or 2.
And no new rules, just a bit of erratera.

Good time to come back, since the formats about to rotate and everyone is starting over. But really not much has changed, accept for MD being released right after you left.
