A friend of mine is really into Trigun. I like Cowboy Bebop and Pokemon. I hate FLCL and Yu-Gi-Oh!.
My likes:
1) Wolf's Rain: The overall atmosphere of the show is awesome. The story is great, and the music is wonderful. The characters are all very well developed, from Toboe's naivety to Kiba's unrelenting perserverance.
2) Ruroni Kenshin: Great music, awesome characters, and it takes place in fuedal Japan. What's not to like?
3) Tenchi Muyo: Frickin' hilarious! It's impossible to watch an episode and not burst out laughing.
What I don't like:
1) FLCL: I tried watching this, and I got a killer headache. WAY to weird.
2) Dragon Ball Z/GT: The original Dragon Ball was pretty good. Z and GT are just plain stupid.
3) FLCL: I know I already listed this, but I feel like listing it again. It's THAT weird.

Yea, I forget to say that I also hate the Dragon Ball Z series. It is waaaay to slow and stupid for my liking. The plot line doesn't move fast enough to stay interesting and the characters are very bland and don't have any real personality.

Actually I like the horribly dubbed version too...
But I was referring to the manga version of each of the animes I listed...

have to say my top 5 are:
1a. Rurouni Kenshin - (only episodes 1-61) like the fantasy plus a little history to balance it out.
1b. Cowboy Bebop- really snazzy action and great music
2. Shaman King- (Subbed only) great mix of comedy and action very interesting story.
3. Trigun- love and peace!
4. Chobits- got me a little choked up on one or more occassions.
5. Gungrave- really cool piece from yasuhiro nightow.

Well of course my favorite is OUTLAWSTAR!
Most people missed this show, it wasn't on for very long. The show that had it all. Action, Comedy, Drama, and of cource Love. I especially loved the fact that Jene and Jim were part of somthing special, the quest for Melfina's pupose. Great show!
My top 8

Ok... here are my top few.
DragonBall/Z/GT - The original DragonBall story was excellent. DragonBall Z got more into fighting (and less into the story line), and DragonBall GT just backed away from the original story too much. Too bad tat the entire series is near over...
Final Fantasy Unlimited - Its pretty weird, but its got some similar characteristics of the games. I'm probably one of the biggest Final Fantasy nerds on this board, so you can expect me to like this. What I've seen to far that is based off of the game include Eidelons and monsters, The story line is different (and not really based off of any of the games), but its cool.
Chobits - This anime is just REALLY in detail and REALLY dramatic. I like the in detail part, but I'm not the most dramatic person. Chobits, though, is just different with its excellent art and odd story line.
Pokemon - Ok. This is where I might start getting a little more harsh. The first season of Pokemon was good until it got over played by Cartoon Network. Then, the Orange Islands season was just wastful filler. The only thing they showed us in the Orange Islands season was Marill, the Pokemon that would be to come when GSC was released. The Johto Journies season was ok, but not the best. Master Quest was a pretty solid season, and would have been MUCH better if they'd shown the banned episode and all the specials dealing with that season. And Pokemon Advance... they need a new cast of characters now. Brock is OK, but he gets old. May is to touchy and girly for me. Max is... a cry baby. And Ash, he's been around too long. Send him home now. I would probably have a different opinion about thsi season if they would have kept Misty in the show.
Yu-Gi-Oh - Ok, I don't exactly LOVE YGO, but it is OK. Playing the card game is terrible, and on the show it takes them 20 minutes to talk about what they will do with the card they just drew, However, the manga is a little more interesting. There is much more action involved in the manga that makes YGO look a little better to me then otheriwse in the show/card game.
Yu Yu Hakusho - This is MY favorite anime. The manga and anime both for this are just absolutely fabulous! If you haven't seen this show, its what you need to see. The art is great, the story line is excellent, and there is tons of fighting (I usually don't like this, but it fits with the plot well). Sure, one fight may last 3 episodes, but at least the plot keeps it going good.

Ok hello you haven't mentioned the greatest anime/Magna ever BERSERK! I mean cmon great characters dark humor action scenes to die for (literally) and romance if you haven't seen it definitle check out Berserk!!!

Inuyasha- I love the story and the characters I also love action and ROMANCE!!!!!!!! so yeah.... Oh yeah I LOVE THE MUSIC! (Favorite Character=FC) ( FC - INUYASHA! but I also like Sesshomaru and Miroku! Koga isn't bad either!)
Fushigi Yugi- I Love the story, I LOVE THE CHARACTERS! and I also love the music! (FC- TASUKI! but I like Tamahome and Chichiri and Nuriko and..... ok I like all the suzaku wariors but... TASUKI"S THE BEST!)
Yu Yu Hakusho- um....... Same as the others.... (I'm goign to put SAO for the ones that are the same! ok? ) (FC- right now it's a tie between Hiei and Yusuke, but Hiei, Kurama and Yusuke basically keep changing to my liking!) ( I hope that wasn't confusing!)
Cowboy Bebop- SAO, But I really like Edward!!! She acts ALMOST exactly like me!! (FC- EDWARD! and Spike isn't too far behind!)

Yu-Gi-Oh- SAO, (i guess it's pretty much the same on al of them.... *sweatdrop* ( FC-YAMI! He's the best on this show! but I also like Kaibe sometimes.... but not as much as YAMI!!! )
Pokemon- This is one of the shows that's not like YES POKEMON! or not like OH NO POKEMON! get me? (FC-Probably Gary..... strange yes but I do like him! along with Ash and a guy named Steven)

Haunted Juction- It only has I think 12 episodes but it's REALLY good and funny! Oh and SAO (FC- KAZUMI!)
Zenki- I'm in the middle of watching it with a friend of mine...... so far I"M LOVIN" IT!!!!!!!! (ZENKI! No da!)
Naruto- I've read ALOT of it but I haven't seen any yet.... But I'll be able to soon!!! (FC - Proabably Naruto and susake are tied)

Ohh, I thought of another favorite, Flame of Recca! Great story, great characters, bad ending. XD; But it's still a really good anime, it's an action anime, kinda like, Naruto mixed with Yuyu Hakusho.

IamMexican: oh yeah..... that is sad... it was Suboshi that killed them 'cause he thought that Tamahome killed his twin brother, Amiboshi, But little did he know, was that Amiboshi jumped in to the river on his own 'cause he thought that he had betrayed the Suzaku or seriyuu wairriors.... can't remember which one... *sweatdrop* yeah but I LOVE TASUKI! And tasuki is spelled with a "I" not a "y" ...... hehe just to let ya know....

Yu_Gi_oh!: My brother got me hooked on it. And shining_delcatty, I must agree,there is nothing better than Yami. Or Bakura,or Marik(not the psycopathic one). But the manga is a little bit better than the show itself.
Pokemon: The one, the only. It's where i started getting hooked on anime.

The manga is only better then the show if you're talking about the dubbed version of YGO. I've never seen the subbed version, but from I've heard, it's better because 4Kids hasn't tainted it. D=
