Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Where is the Disruption?

Which decks would be running Rocket's Admin if it was still there?
Admin was great because Pidgeot could get you back a card you really needed, but in the current format I doubt it would be played very much.
But maybe I'm wrong.

Admin was great because it could put your opponent in a position from which it was very hard to recover. The Admin and quick search combo was lethal in sudden death.

Admin is much less powerfull in an environment with lots of attacks that draw several cards. I would still expect power stopper and trainer denial decks to run Admin if it were available.

Personally I miss Desert Shamen more than Admin. I always liked the ability to reduce my own hand size when I wished. Shamen seemed a much more balanced card than Admin.

IMHO, every deck in the format would be playing Rocket's Admin in some quantity if it were legal. Early game, it's a free hand refresher, and mid-late game, it is a hand disruptor. Now, some decks like Destiny might run 4, and some decks like MetaNite might only run 1 or 2, but I feel every deck would run some.

this is one of the reasons that I started: http://pokegym.net/forums/showthread.php?t=50707&highlight=limited+format?

Hariyama would still have been somewhat playable if windstorm wasn't around. Why was windstorm made? To counter Cessation Crystal.

Other decks that were not hurt to by too many stadiums:
Liability
Ludicargo: I know Crystal Beach and Cursed Stone eat the deck alive. But if it had a simple stadium counter like BF to try and slow down Metanite then it probably would still be like Tier 3 deck, with CC you'll get laughed at if you show up with it to a Premier tournament. It did alright last year and look at all the electric deck there were: Mewtric, Metanite, ZRE, and any rogue electric decks or even Eeveelutions that ran a Jolteon Ex.

I was trying to make a heal deck with Sceptlie Pop 4 and Blissey Ex. But the fact that I had to run windstorm just clogged up the deck too much. I would only need 1 tauros as I could get around Cursed Stone with a simple blissey drop, the tauros would be for BF. But no, someone thought it would be a great idea to make CC.

On topic, looks like one of the disruption cards they made actually ended up hurting the format.

in the current format w/o windstorm i think it would pwn. I have a hariayama Ex/eeveelutions deck. Guess who the 2 eeveelutions are? Vaporeon Ex and Umbreon ex. I have the deck made with Crystal Beach and Holon Legacy. Psychic pokemon hurt but don't kill the deck, safeguarders are the same. Windstorm KILLS it.

I know it's not quite as disruptive as some of the other cards, but Delcatty Ex can bring some of the huge hand decks down to 6 as soon as it hits the bench. There are other disruption effects and counters to Castform (which seems to be the major problem) in quick hitting fighting types like Exeggutor and Pokemon that force switches of you opponent's pokemon (like Feraligatr with Drag Off) to "disrupt" their set up. While there is little hand disruption in format that is viable (all those pokemon with attacks like Suprise just don't cut it with all the draw cards available right now) the best disruption now involves beating your opponent to the punch in what they are trying to do, and hopefully setting yourself up in the process.

Vaporeon Ex and Metagross Ex both cause Disruption...

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

Hariyama isn't playable. Psychic is too easy to come across.

It varies on deck strategy...not a single card itself.

admin and pow used to be my two best buddies...
they need to rerelease powblock again
imagine a cessation crystaled dark tyranatar spinning tailing you

admin is so good, but we need it because when you play against a god raieggs start what are you gonna do? because they have so many cards in there hand and you need something to slow down Holon Castform engine crap decks.

loads of decks can play castform start, heck msn does castform start even tho metagross and steelix aren't delta

Stuff that can hit for decent damage t2 such as Banette EX counters Castform decently. Also there's plenty of disruption with things like Latilock going on. And Scramble Energy/Rayquaza EX are two examples of good comeback cards, as well as ER2/Pokemon Reversal. I just think you're moaning that you favorite card, Rocket's Admin, is gone, and rightfully so, because having such easy hand disruption is no better than having difficult hand disruption.

Because we all know LatiLock slows down decks that abuse h. castform and poke-powers.

i used to put all my hopes for DP 1 , but it let me down.... sigh.

in fact, this is THE no-disturbance season. there's not much disturber trainer out there, stump? i dont wanna kill my own poke, CB? i run casty! duh

but let's look at DP2, at least there's 1 little disturb trainers card...

tyranitar freak: stump is great, you fill up the bench and get rid of pokemon that is gonna die, avoiding the opponent drawing prizes.

Psiumbreon: bandoom speed start is good, but things like scramble and rai d just make the castform start worth while.

disruption rocks, no one sees it coming, 4 winstorms is all they got, but the waste them on things like battle frontier and holon legacy. then, cessation+cursed stone, the game is over.
