Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Where is the Lost Zone?

Yeah, this is something that could be easily abused...

I have to agree with Keith and about half of the thread. Being a Yu-Gi-Oh! player (head of that league there), I'm familiar with the Removed From Play Zone featured in that game. Honestly, the first time I heard about this, I kind of scoffed, laughed, and went to the notion that it'll end up like the one in Yu-Gi-Oh!

I am still convinced of that. All this will be is a glorified discard pile in the end, which will be placed above the deck.

And as for people saying cheating will be a problem? We do the same thing in Yu-Gi-Oh!, which is a game that statistically has more cheating players, and we rarely have problems with it.

I have always played with my discard above my deck...

DISCARD
DECK

...for some reason. I like the deck closer to me and the discard further away. With the addition of the Lost Zone I will probably play...

GIRATINA'S HOMETOWN
DISCARD
DECK

...Giratina's hometown obviously being the Lost Zone.

That is not a proper set up. Discard is below the deck.

Is Discard REQUIRED to be below the deck, or is that at HJ's discretion if it's flexible? It feels unnatural for me to place discard there, so I typically just play it the other way around, and no one ever complains. Is this wrong?

Yes, required.

I've played with my discard above my deck at the last few tournaments I attended...

Worst thing for me is I'm used to having my deck set horizontally instead of vertically, and most of our locals are also used to keeping their deck at an angle of some sort to make drawing cards more comfortable while playing other, less strict card games..

In mtg they just put them face down in the discard pile............*explodes everyones mind with simple concept*

The newer Japanese playmats that come with the starter decks say that they go face up to the left of your prizes. They'll probably keep it that way in English. Otherwise Worlds would be confusing.

To the left? Like this?

|LZ| |P|R|----|A|-----|D|
-----|I|Z|
-----|E|-|--|BENCH|-|DP|

That would be weird...

I take it I am the only one who noticed this is called "Where are the Lost Zone?" when it should be "Where is the lost zone?"
...Right then.

Just do what Yu Gi Oh players often do and put it face down below the Discard Pile.

in the yu-gi-oh GX anime i think they put the cards that are removed from plai in their pocket ;)
maybe we can do that?? they'll won't come back after all ;)
or in the deck box ?

Why can't we just put the cards to the left of our active pokemon? Where nothing else goes?...
This really shouldn't be a debate. If it's near or a part of the discard, forgetfulness/cheating will occur and cause problems. If that's where the Japanese have played it, then that's where we ought to play it. ><

My suggestion is just that: Place them to them left of your active, perhaps (if not preferably) horizontally.

I dont care where it is so much as if we can see them or not and i hope we never get to touch them becouse they are lost and if we could ever get things back then it should have been called the "lost and found zone"

I think a 90 degree rotation face up of the cards, just out front of where you play your deck/discard would be most logical. That way things aren't muddled, and the LZ can't be confused with the discard pile.
