I went to league 2nite, i did good with my Machamp deck and ok with dusknoir, and i spent the rest of the time helping 2 teammates with thier decks for sunday. What deck should i use?

Dusknoir

4 Duskull SF 59/100 1 Duskclops SF 34/100 1 Dusknoir 1/100 2 Dusknoir 17/100 1 Dusknoir lvX
2-2 Claydol
3-1-3 Gengar All SF
2 Unown G
1 Uxie LA

24 Pokemon

4 Bebe's search
4 Rare candy
4 pokedrawer
2 Wager
2 Warp point
2 Roseannes research
1 Premier ball
1 Luxury ball
1 Marley
1 Night maintenance
1 Speed stadium

22 Trainers/supporters/stadiums

14 :psychic:
No call because if i get a T1 Gengar i need a :psychic:

14 energy

Strategy: Spread damage, try for either T1 Gengar or T2-3 Dusknoir.

Machamp [this deck is hugely consistent]

4-1-2-1-1 Machamp SF-DP-lvX
2-2 Claydol
4 Farfetch'd
1-1 Uxie
2 Unown G

21 Pokemon

4 Pokedrawer
4 Rare candy
4 Pokehealer
4 Bebe's
2 Speed stadium
2 Warp point
1 Premier ball
2 Roseanne's
1 Luxury ball
1 Night maintenance

25 Trainers/Supporters/Stadium

14 :fighting:

14 Energy

Strategy: Get Farfetch'd Start and T2 Champ.

So those are my 2 best, i am also gonna make a grass deck but i will only have 2 people to test it against. so tell me which one i shouls use and i what i should fix in them. my machamp deck is the better out of the 2 by a long run but it feels risky to me to run a pokemon list with one attacker.

I'd say run your Dusknoir list because it has better matchups, but it's also more expected.

With that meta, I'd run an Unown G-heavy Gigas build, I think.

Regardless of which list you run, I'd beef up your Unown Gs to at least two.

I've built a similar Dusknoir - Gengar deck for one of my kids ( Juniors division, he's 9 ) and he placed 2nd a couple of times. Pretty consistent deck with either starting with Dusky or Gengar. Here are my suggestions :

- In your Machamp deck you have means to get candies in your hand fast with the Farfetch'ds , but in the Dusky one you don't, so you need at least 2 Haunters and 2 Dusclops for each line. Still 4 Candies. Candy the first attacker, and build up the next ones with stage 1's .. unless you drop the DP Dusky for bench limitation. We run a 3 reaper cloth Duskull , 2 Dark-one-eye Dusclops, and 1 DP, 2 Shadow Command and 1 Dusky X line , and straignt 3-2-3 Gengar line.
- We run 1-1 Azelf X and 1-1 Cresselia X line .. won many matches with the Deep Balance and Full Moon Dance features. Plus you can't leave with Azelf if things like Dusky X or 2 baltoys or claydols are prized ( has happened )
- Uxie is great in every deck and it's psychic also ... we don't run it on this one for space matters. So far we haven't missed it .. typical bench would be claydol, azelf or Cress or both , 1 Dusky and 1 Gengar waiting, and another attacking
- Drop the poke drawers, the wagers, the Marleys and the speed stadium, and add the suggested pokemons, 2 moonlights, 2 night maintenances and at least 3 Roseannes .. try 4. They are critical for consistent set up.

Hope this helps.

Also, if you decide to go with Machamp, an option to consider is to add a 2-1 Togekiss line for energy acceleration. This can help use Machamp's 3rd attack faster , and if needed Togekiss is a decent backup attacker with big HP that can help you hold the fort for a couple of turns if you need to regorup. I've never used more than 1 Togekiss per game, so no need to use a 2-2 version.

I would test taking out the poke drawers ( you have the Farfetch'd guys to do the trick ) , adding the Togekiss line, and also changing speed stadiums for Stark Mountains ( incredibly helpful in this deck ) and 1 more night maintenance.... also you need more Roseanne's, at least 3.

Good luck.

You could try adding stark mountain(replacing stark mountain) and regirock(1-2 is fine) if you think adding the togekiss line might hinder your deck's consistency.

You never run 1 stage 1 of a certain line above 3-2-3 unless it's Kingdra

Also, Machamp dosen't need energy accel. You don't need to use Rage or Strong willed that much.

NO FARFETCH'D.

-4 of those

+1 Machoke(you need a 4-2-3-1)
-1 DP Champ(Revenge is okay, but you would rater donk wouldn't you)
+1 SF Champ
+2 Uxie(Drawpower is HUGE)
+1 Uxie Lv.X(If you run into a mirror)

Looks good, play Champ over DuskGar.

OK, so lets start with what brawler said. the farfetch'd are getting me T2 champ almost every game and if i get a chop start i usually donk or end up taking out my opponents pokemon until he has none. this exact list beat my league leaders undefeated dusknoir deck.[and by undefeated i dont mean he just made it yesterday, i mean he has played 10+ games with it and won them all.] and it wasnt by donk. it was he had like a full bench and i completely wiped it all out.

I am also worried about not having a back up attacker, which my dusknoir deck has. but my dusknoir deck has no consistency and its record at league is like 1-2 and machamp is 4-2 i think. keep in mind that my machamp deck only lost to a vespiqueen scizor cherrim deck.

Rob-GAJP, i am gonna take your advice to heart since your son was 1st in the world for a while last year with his blissey deck[that i am guessing you made for him.]

and pokemanmaster, i agree that dusknoir puts up a bigger fight, but i just cant get comfortable with dusknoir. the only 2 decks that i have evr felt comfortable with was my torterra deck with furret and claydol that i placed 2nd with at a citys 3 weeks ago and this machamp deck that i am using now. so i am going with my gut feeling.

Appreciate your comment and advice is with best intentions ... just to clarify , neither of my sons ( I have 2, ages 9 and 8 ) have been # 1 's ( yet :) .. they've been as high as 3 and 4 of Florida so far .. so let's see if they can make it through the premier tournaments all the way to San Diego this next year ...

But the advice comes from winning decks at least . My other kid won 1 Cities with his Machamp / Gliscor deck ( complement great each other and a lot of fun to play .. Gliscor line is 3-3-1 ) . I'm the one with the Machamp - Togekiss one, and used Rage many times with it, so it's a matter of preference, as always.

So good luck and happy new year.
