Which one is better?

So I am running a Darkrai/Hydreigon.
My question is to you reader SHaymin Ex or Registeel EX?

Shaymin EX
- It has a low Energy cost, it can deal out massive damage in the late game, and it utilizes Blend Energy.

-Shaymin EX is a 110 HP Pokemon, making it very easy to KO, even with an Eviolite attached to it.



Registeel EX
-Registeel EX can only use Triple Laser, which does 30 damage to three of your opponents Pokemon. What’s so great about that? When combined with Darkrai EX’s Night Spear, which puts 30 damage onto one of your opponents benched Pokemon, you suddenly have the ability to not only to just pound on your opponent with Darkrai’s damage output, but to spread damage and take several KO’s at once.

-Registeel also has Resistance, which when combined with Eviolite gives you -40 Resistance against Psychic types. This -40 damage makes Mewtwo EX almost a non-existent threat to Registeel; and unlike Darkrai EX, Registeel doesn’t have a weakness to Fighting types, making Terrakion a much smaller threat to you as well.

BUT WHAT do you all think?

In a generic, Tou'll-face-anything type of format, I think Registeel would be amazing to run. He has all the pros needed...


...except Shaymin hits 2 of the biggest threats to your deck (Terrakion and Keldeo) for weakness, so as of now Shaymin is probably your best bet.

IDK if you run the prism version of Darkrai/hydregion or not, but one pro of registeel is that its second attack makes Keldeo EX have to have 8 energies instead of 7 to OHKO.

I don't know if it's just me, but I see Blastoise able to get 7 on the field somewhat easily, but I do not see 8 that often. It could be a game changer.

I've seen a few people running it with terrakion/verizion and some prism energy. It's kind of like a Klingklang offshoot.

Here is my decklist so you can get a feel for my questioning

I think you should go with the good old 10-testing.

Get together some friends or go to bebessearch.com and playtcg.me and test your deck 10 times (maybe five if pressed for time) in 10 matches. Try to get 10 (or 5 or whatever) rounds against each popular deck type, adding notes such as "Game 1- Registeel was easy KO" or "Registeel was useful vs Kyurem tech" or "Shaymin was immediately discarded"

After 10 matches, you'll have a decent idea of the use in your deck.

Don't run either. Drop that slot for either a Bianca, a Juniper, a Max Potion or a Dark energy.

IMO if you find yourself unsure of what to put in a tech slot like this, you don't need the tech.

Still i see tons of Terrakion in my area, so that's a good reason for me.
