hi this ben and im kinda sick of buying random booster with no holo/ex's does any one have any secrec=t tips how to pick holos/ex from pokemon packs???

best way to legally try to predict a holo pack:

If you are allowed to handle an individual pack before purchase, you place it on a flat surface (countertop). Make sure the ends of the pack aren't bent down, thereby pushing the pack up.

Then, gently push down on the middle of the pack with 2-3 fingers. Lift up and repeat 2-3 times. If you feel the pack "give" when you push, chances are you found a holo.

Holos tend to warp more than nonholos, thereby creating a "bubble effect" this way.

Works for most card games, esp. LOTR where foils are very scarce.

DON'T bring a digital scale to the store to weigh the pack. They will not like that.

I should try that bubble effect way for my youngest brother. For some reason, almost everytime we go to Target, I get the holo and he doesn't. :)

I have a related question: did they stop doing the RH in every pack deal? I got my first HL pack today and while I got a holo Life Herb, I didn't get an RH.

OH! I thought that they just revamped their holo design. But I really like this new design anyways; the old RH was a little...much.

I've always used instinct and I get a holo every other pack on average, but now the holos are gonna come to me in a stampede Mwahahahahaha

I Heard Slightly Bend The Pack And Which Ever Has The Most Resistant To The Bend Is A Holo Is That True?? Also Can U Tell Wheres The Holos In An Unopen Box (like The Order They Put The Holos).

Thay do put one vary rare card in one pack in every box from what I heard and that the pack is always in the same spot in the box.

Except a Holo Magnetic Storm is just the Parallel Foil version and not a real Holo.

TR4L, wouldn't that be kinda faulty?
I mean, every pack has a RH (unless, you're one of the unlucky people).
And if there is no RH, there would be a normal.
I've never seen a pack with 2 different premiums, whether it be RH + EX, etc.

I got a RH in every pack and I've gotten about 5 EX cards. Also one time a few years ago when thay hade 11 cards in every pack I got a Jungle that only hade 10 and no rare.

heh, i've always been just naturally lucky when buying packs and getting holos. back in the day i would be like "yeah, i think i want a team rockets mewtwo" so i went to the store, bought one pack and it would be team rocket's mewtwo. same thing now, i bought an ADV 3 pack after years and got a Dragonite EX.
but when it comes to yu-gi-oh my luck sucks bad especially with the japanese packs and the really crappy odds to get holos and such.

Hmmm, the sure way is to simply buy a box when you have enough cash, you'll probably get at least 11 RHs.

You get a RH in every pack, and I think there's 32 packs in a box so you'd get about 10 holo cards in every box and 32 RH cards. I remember one time I got a spanish base pack and I said when I was about to earn it (My mom is crule, she'd buy a pack and make me clean the whole house for it because she knew I'd do it for the pack) and I said "There's a chance it could be a Charizard" and shure as the sun shines I got a Charizard. I'm also terable at getting good Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, it was about my hundrenth pack befor I got my forst Ultra Rare and it was thousand eyes restrict.
