I was thinking a little while ago about pokemon games while playing wind waker. To all who have played wind waker and all 3-d games with the run-around-beating-people-up-as-you-go games, why dont they make a pokemon game like that. you get to choose who you are like in r/b/y, g/c/s, and r/s but it is in 3-D. it is an adventure like in the game boy games and like when you run into a wild pokemon it will be like in pokemon stadium. who agrees with me that a game like that would be cool, huh, i mean who wouuldnt want a game like that? respond to this post about how you feel about this topic

Yeah, that would be great! So could actually be the pokemon and have it do stuff. You could actually control in running around and dodging attacks. so it would be more like the tv show! i could only see this happening of Gamecube do to how complex it would be (at least I think that would be the case)

He said it would be like Stadium. Not really like Zelda/Mario/whatever.

And, no. I don't think it's a good idea. 3D graphics are overrated. Keep things simple.

If it ain't broke, then don't fix it. Pokémon's formula for the main games is fine as it is.

i said when you run into a pokemon or a trainer then it would go into stadium mode to battle them. i am aware that the games they have now are fine, this would just be cool. i dont like pokemon at all but i play the games because they are fun. i havent liked pokemon for 2/3 years!! but the games are fun. i wasted 30 bucks for a thing i dont even like (ruby), because its fun! i asked for your opinion though so i will respect it. if you dont like it then you dont like it, i cant change that.

If I recall correctly, the Scenario Mode is fully 3D. But, like I said, 3D is overrated.

Bacon... what you say confuses me. How can something be fun and yet you don't like it? It is illogical! This does not compute! Error! Error! Overload!

Pidgeotto and Extreme Espeon, anything Zelda-like with Real time battles would NOT be good for Pokémon. Pokémon is built around turn-based battles. Sorry for ranting.

I would enjoy a Pokémon RPG on the Gamecube, simply for the sheer amount of data that it could hold. We could have all three landmasses, all 3 sets of Pokémon, huge Battle Towers, more mini-games, possible online capabilites(?), etc.. Plus, since Pokémon isn't about graphics, a simpler graphics engine like cell shading could be used to make more room for extra features.

Contrary to popular belief, cel-shading is HARDER than normal 3D graphics. It requires extra logorithms (or something. I forget what it's called). So a graphic engine like The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker is harder on the GameCube than a graphic engine like Metroid Prime.

Just clearing up some common misunderstanding.

BPM im saying that i dont like pokemon as in the shows and cards, but i do like the games. Red, what i mean by zelda/mario type of game is you run around until you run into a wild pokemon/trainer, then it goes into the battle mode, turns, attacks, ect... that would be pretty sweet to have all 3 worlds and all the pokemon in one game.

Making a Pokemon game like that would just go against everything Pokemon is known for. When u do that, u'll get games like Pokemon Snap, that *** Pikachu game, and Stadium. While some of those were a good idea, none of them were close in comparison to the GBA game.

I know they wouldn't get to the level of the normal games. But these would be extra games like Pokemon Snap, Pokemon Pinball etc. Those are great games. Of course nowhere near Pokemon RBY GSC RS but that doesn't mean they can't exist or be good. If anything it would make the RS type games more popular. It wasn't my intention when I said Mario/Zelda type game as a replacement. I meant it as an addition. :)

Pokémon is a GameBoy game. That is was it was made for and that is what it will continue to be. When Gamefreak made the game, they had completed it before even presenting the idea to Nintendo. Luckily, Nintendo gave the go ahead and the years of work Gamefreak put into it wasn't a waste. They designed it for the GameBoy because they are fanatics about it. They even took one apart long ago (when they made a video game magazine) just to see how it worked.

This game brought the GameBoy back into popularity. Sure there are some 3D spin-off games, but they are nothing special. I say continue the Pokémon for GameBoy legacy.

I wouldn't mind it, but it would be somewhat difficult to do. Though the graphics for PokemonSnap were very good, I think. I don't need LensFlare and CelShading to make a good game, personally I think they detract from it. That's specifically why I _DIDN'T_ go and get the new Zelda for Gamecube. Cel Shading is bad - end of story.

FishKing, I believe you are totally right on this one. I'd like to see another PokemonSnap, with Johto-Hoenn inclusive, and the new Collosseum looks good, but the true heart of Pokemon is GameBoy. It's portability is what's made it popular. (Though I don't know why they dropped the infrared on the GBA, that was good for trading.)

Infra-red - probably dropped because it was rarely used, and didn't have much application.

Pokémon Snap - That wasn't on Kanto. It was on some small island with no human occupants. But, I'm assuming that you meant the same as Snap, but included GSC/RS Pokémon as well.

Cel-shading -... The Wind Waker was AWESOME. You just don't appreciate the artistic turn it took. And beside that, it was a very fun game. End of story.

The heart of Pokémon - Gotta agree with you on that one. Game Boy all the way (which is what I've been saying already, eh!). Besides, if the next main Pokémon game was on GameCube (or Nintendo's next console depending when/if they plan for a sequel), that would mean it'd cost md $100 to get both versions instead of $60 (because you know they'll do multiple versions again).

you guys are making a lot of since. When i put up this post i didnt mean to replace the GB games, i was just thinking of a game that might be cool. like you guys have already said, like snap, it was just an idea. Its not like someone from nintendo is going to be a part of this message board, think it is a good idea and make it real, it was just an idea.

I agree with you BPM, Wind Waker was the bomb. question: did you ever play with tingle? HES SWEET!!! it might cost you a few (thousand) rupees in a temple, but he helps out a lot. you remember the place up by dragon roost island where you had to fly a cirtain distance to win the prize? well my friend and i tried it with tingle when he didnt even have doubled magic and he missed it by 5 Yards, it was sooo close.

I have, but I didn't use the Tingle Tuner much. Can't exactly say I like Tingle much, period. In any of his incarnations. He just bugs me, what with his "Koolooh Limpah" and wot. :p

And one more thing...
The word you meant to type was "sense", not "since". "Since" denotes a period of time has passed, such as in the following example:
It has been a long time since I played Nintendo 64.
Learn something everyday. :p
