As far as I know its a Starter Set like Trainer Kits. Love the Case. Has 4 Decks, Infernape, Empoleon, Torterra and Raichu. All new cards. Could be the next Mini Series

The Leafeon is a promo for the "Winter Challenge" event series that kick off in December. :) You can also see picture of a cool-looking guidebook - everyone who steps inside the convention hall of a Winter Challenge (they're going to be huge, a bit like State Championships in the USA in size, I would guess) receives a Leafeon promo card and a guide book which introduces all the different stands/corners/side events at the Winter Challenge, and how the event works.

When DP was released, they also released something called the DP Entry Pack for new players, featuring the original Infernape, Empoleon and Torterra. The new one we can see on this page is called the "Entry Pack '08" and will go on sale on November 30th for approximately 17-18 US dollars. Not only the attacks and illustrations of the starters are new, but new Supporters etc are to be included as well! :)

Since it seems like they've decided to bring out new versions (to update) this beginner's pack from time to time, everything looks like this is gonna be Japan's Trainer Kit product from now on. Quite similiar to our Trainer Kit, at least!

Thanks for the information. As usual, you are very thorough.

What catches my eye is the play matt in the background. That is very intriguing.

Is there any way folks can get a hold of one of those kits?

Steve

Steve: It looks like the kit on the 2nd link in Jason's post has the mat and possibly all 4 mini decks? The price appears to be 3000 Yen? (May be wrong there). I would LOVE to have some of those kits for giveaways at some of my tourneys!

Tego...any help on how/where we might be able to order/get those kits? (And the proper price)?

Thx for your help Tego.

Keith

Here are the contents of the normal kit, and the deluxe version:

Entry Pack 08:
3x Preconstructed half decks (30 cards)
1x sheet of damage counters (27) and markers (2)
Pokémon coin
Rulebook
Playmat for practise

Entry Pack 08 DX:
4x Preconstructed half deck
30x Acrylic fibre made damage counters (6x "50 damage", 24x "10 damage")
Pokémon coin
1x "Hajmite book" (Literally "for the first time book") Entry Pack 08 DX edition
1x Play Mat for practise
1x Damage counter case made out of paper/cardboard
1x Sheet of bonus stickers

I can't guarantee that this is a 100 % accurate translation, but at least I got some practise. :p I wonder what the 4th half deck in the DX version will be - there's no 4th DP starter. o_O And for anyone asking: I don't know how you can get hold of this. I will buy it in shops, but I do not resell any Japanese products.Try searching on Ebay, or wait for this card to come out in English. POP 7 sounds a bit too soon for me, but maybe POP 8 or a future Trainer Kit, or some completely new type of kit/deck pack?

I've seen japanese pokemon damage counters before. They are pretty nifty!

I'm digging more into the information about Winter Challenge. Appearently, Winter Challenge's "Challenge Arena" tournaments will see Japanese players' second chance ever to win Time Space Distortion! The downside of this is that people's TSDs will fall greatly in value. And the plus side is, of course, that building a deck like the Japanese Master National Champion's (containing 4 TSD) is no longer quite as impossible. Just for competing in the Challenge Arena, you get a new Glaceon.

I HOPE they reprint TSD in America too!

Tego, could you post more information on the Japanese Master National Champion's deck?

looks like theres an INfernape Lv.X alternative art (US DP promo...10) is seen in the link provided by Eskil that have the Glaceon on it

Yayness but rememebr these eveelution are not alternative artwork plus they are brand new cards,

1 yen is 0.008 dollars according to google. So 1000 yen would be $8 and $3000 yen would be $24.

Not at all...we get 2 Holos maybe, and the best so far has been Lucario, which is really just a meh because it's been reprinted so many times and it never was that difficult to obtain anyway, while they got the 3 starters (!) and keep on getting them...

[showoff]

Leafeon's First attack is Spiral Drain, which I believe removes damage counters equal to the damage done, or something like that. I don't remember what it's done in the past. It's second attack is Leaf Blade, and I'm guessing based on the small amount of text and the 50+ damage that you flip a coin for extra damage.

Glaceon's (The link in Tego's post) attacks are "Ice Jet" (I believe it does damage to one bench but I wouldn't swear to it) and "Icy Wind" (10 to each bench, I believe).

Torterra’s first attack appears to be Earthquake, though I wouldn't swear to it given the low energy cost and the fact that Earthquake is usually associated with a high cost. Given the 60 damage for two (C) energy cost, I'd say it prolly does 10 (maybe 20) to each of your own benched. Its second attack is called "Hard Plant", but that's about all I can tell you; I can't take any context clues from that because I don't recall ever hearing that attack name before.

Infernape's first attack is Mach Punch, my guess would be that it doesn't apply resistance. Its second attack is Mega something... too small for me to tell what the something is. Probably something associated with fire, since I see the fire symbol in the attack text. Given Infernape's history and the low cost, I'd say you discard Fire energies and do damage based on that.

Empoleon's first attack is something Rush. I can read the symbols fine, but I don't know what the katakana "Chuarusufu" is supposed to be, if someone else can figure that out. Literal translation of second attack would be "Everybody Surfing" or something like that, but there's obviously some kinda grammar in there I don't know to make it make sense.

Hippowdon's first attack is Sand Inhale, which I think was on its DP1 card, so you can look at that for what that does. Second attack is Sand Impact.

Manectric's first is something like Electromagnetism (I think it and Electrike have had attacks with names something like this in the past, so it prolly does whatever those do). Second is "Bolt Crash".

Toxicroak's first is "Numbness Poison", so it's prolly that attack where you flip for paralyze+poison. Second is just... Cut, or Cut Off. Pretty boring.

The supporter is just draw 2 cards.

Yeah, fairly useless translations, but I was bored.
