Hey guys. I'm moe1216 and I'm here with the latest version of my Gothitelle deck after I had taken part in my first of three battle roads I am able to participate in due to work. I managed to go 3-2, but I missed the top cut and hate myself for it because I was unable to play this deck the right way and it cost me. I am here now asking you all for your input so that I can get farther in these battle roads than before. Please and thank you for your time and constructive criticism is welcomed.

POKEMON: 19
3 : Gothitelle, EP-47
2 : Gothorita, EP-46
4 : Gothita, EP-43
2 : Reuniclus, BW-57
2 : Duosion, BW-56
3 : Solosis, BW-55
2 : Zekrom, BW-114
1 : Cleffa, CL-24

TRAINERS: 30
4 : Pokemon Communication, BW-99
2 : Max Potion, EP-94
2 : Pokemon Catcher, EP-95
4 : Rare Candy, UL-82
3 : Junk Arm, TM-87
4 : Professor Oak's New theory, GS-101
4 : Twins, TM-89
4 : Pokemon Collector, GS-97
3 : Pokegear 3.0, GS-96

ENERGY: 11
2 : Double Colorless Energy, GS-103
9 : Psychic Energy, BW-109

The deck's strategy has been repeated many times so you're all familiar with it. The deck's idea is to use a powerful draw engine to build up Gothitelle quickly and create the lock while building up behind it to begin taking prizes. Reuniclus is here to keep her alive by using damage swap to do three things other than heal her: (1) Move it to a dragon for a last prize KO after if Gothitelle takes too much damage to keep up, (2) Use a Max Potion to heal it off, or (3) knock out one of my pokes if we're tied early game so that I can use a twins to shift the momentum to my favor. Last, cleffa is there to add draw support, but I seem to be using it less and less as time goes on.

That's pretty much it, but I feel like it's missing something after the BR and some playtesting. I don't know what it is, but hopefully you guys can help me find it. Thank you for your time.

Its certainly not missing anything, youve got 29 trainers making 61 cards
Regarding constructive criticism, I would remove 1 Reshiram and 1 Psychic Energy for another Duosion and another Catcher.

Id also probably drop a Sage for a Seeker. And somehow find space for a 1-1 Blissey or a 1-0-1 Serperior
CC :fire:

Look again he has 28 trainers just as it says.

Right now you've got no healing under item-lock, so you might play Blissey or Seeker, or both, for when you go up against Vileplume or mirror.
I also kind of like Zekrom better than Reshiram. If you have just one basic in your starting hand, and you could choose between those two, and you know that you have ~50% chance of being up against a Yanmega-based deck given the current meta--well, I'd choose Zekrom. So I'd go 2 Zekrom 0 Reshiram. But that's just me.
Best of luck this weekend!

If I add the blissey, what should I take out? Also, do you believe the draw power is enough?

• No Blissey. Two Max Potion are much better.
• I like the 4-X-3 Goth, but I'd drop it to only one Gothorita for a 4-1-3.
• Only one of each dragon.
• Tyrogue over Pichu.
• 4 PONT and 4 Juniper, don't run Sage's, only 3 Twins.
• 2 Catcher
• 10 Psychic, only one or two DCE if you insist on running it... I tried DCE and didn't like it, though.

Just my thoughts. Take them or leave them.

I run just one dragon, so you could take one out, but I understand why you might run two. (Or none--Gothitelles on the bench make good damage sinks too, though slower to get up.)

I run 4-2-3 Goth like you. There has been lots of MewPlume in my area, which is why I run the extra stage 1 and blissey/seeker. You may not need to.

Everyone's got their own ideas on supporter lines for this deck. I do PONT & Cheren.

I've been running Juniper and Sage as from testing PONT hasn't really been helping, since once the deck has the lock, the only things I need is another goth to keep up the lock, so i can go through my deck quickly. In my area, reshiboar is rampant and people are starting to add blitzboar to one-shot.

I disagree with most.

I feel a 4/2/3 is the best play for the deck.
2 Dragons iss the play so it is stands less of a chance at being prized.
Tyrogue over Pichu...why?
Pichu is so consistant with this deck, downside is you help your opponent, but does THAT factor truly help them?

Sage and Juniper go hand in hand.

I agree with catcher

I personally like 11 psychic and 2 dbl colorless.

I agree with Twins being 3

The on big thing about this deck is that it is Supporter reliant, reminds me of the old holon engine. What is today's holons transciever?...simple, PokeGear 3.0. Run it, atleast 2!

I did some more playtesting last night and added 2 pokegears and it helped immensely. Good call. I sadly only have one catcher and i'm limited in my money so that's all i could scrounge up. Why only three twins, though? Also, any ideas on how to stop Blitzboar? That thing's a pain in my you-know-what.

One of each dragon = 2 dragons.
Tyrogue wins you games T1. Pichu helps them set up, which goes a long way toward defeating the purpose of a Trainer lock.
I hate Sage's, for a variety of reasons.

Either way, whatever works for you is the best build for you. We've both weighed in, now he's gotta test. Pokégear is an interesting idea.

Just yesterday a friend pulled a catcher from a single pack and gave it to me. I took out one twins and added it, as well as one switch, replacing a max potion, as beartic has become a problem. Testing right now is going moderate, and I'm still working out some more kinks so I can be ready for the 8th and 15th.

i was thinking of adding some defenders to reduce the damage i would be taking. what do you guys think?

Ok I'm doing this on my iPhone but here is my list that I'm using
3 solosis
2 duosion
2 reuniclus
3gothita
2 gothorita
3 gothitelle
1 shaymin
1 zekrom
1 reshiram
1 cleffa
1 pichu

3 junk arm
4 rare candy
2 seeker
3 catcher
4 pokemon collector
3 pont
4 pokemon communication
4 twins
1 max potion

10 psychic
2 dce

It's been working great for me u can try it out if you want

You need to run a counter for Beartic and Mew lock. Beartic has not been play much at battle roads but Mewlock has. I played one battle roads with this deck and went 4-1, made top cut. My lost was to a beartic because I didn't have a way to counter it.

I've added switch to help against the bear, though with vileplume it may still be a problem if I don't get rid of it quick enough. I don't know any good mew counters, though. Any suggestions?

doduo&dodrio, drowzee, jirachi & shaymin

are counters I have come up with. One of these should work. Switch doesn't work with the bear or the mewlock decks because of vileplume. A good bear or mewloock deck will have vileplume out by T2 or T3.

Blissey is a Mew counter. One-hit's Mew, and you can tank with Reuniclus too. Beartic can be counteres witha 1-1 Dodrio line. Run 4 Twins, its absolutly essential.
Run Tropical Beach, it's a grat card, and turn Bad into Good.
4 Sage's 4 Pont is enough Draw

Tropical Beach costs more than the rest of the deck put together :/

As per your rendition, I'd do the following:
-Reshiram, you're not worried about many/any grass/steel normall, zekrom stops Blastoise, Yanmega, and Tornadus. +1 Zekrom to fill in the same role.

+2-4 Seekers, pending amount you can squeeze in.
-Cleffa, + Pichu, I actually hate Pichu normally, this is a decent spot for it though.

If you want to go really confusing and surprise people, I'd tech a 1-0-1 Metang :) Does the job of Dodrio, but way better, and can even be used offensively for nasty results.

I don't play tropical beach because of the cost. The deck is still good without it. I have found if you don't have tropical beach then you need at least 10 cycle cards. I prefer blissy and dodrio.
