All the info you want is at www.ptegames.com, which is the Tournament Organizer's website. See also the thread "Who's going to San Diego..." under Tournaments & Org Play--there is lots of info and discussion there.

See you on Saturday. Let all your friends know and bring them along. It's going to be a great event--lots of fun for all. I should know...I'm running it!

PT&E1, after I sent you the e-mail asking if I could bring the scanner and laptop inside, I got your reply and will be waiting for the answer on Wednesday, as you stated in your e-mail. I can't reply to you because AOL is acting up right now for some reason, and you don't have Private Messaging enabled, so I thought I should let you know here. Also, can you please send me your real name through AOL, since I don't want to walk up to you and call you PT&E1. For some reason I can only recieve e-mails, not send them.

Anyways, why are we not allowed to include the EX Sandstorm cards in our decks for the side events? Won't everyone have already gotten the six packs after the main tournament is over, since that is when the side events are?

Answer #1: My name is Karl, and is listed in full at the end of this post.

Answer #2: The only side event which could use Sandstorm cards is the constructed event. However, for this side event, Sandstorm is NOT a legal set. It is standard and "good" policy that cards sets do not become legal for constructed play until after a reasonable period (approx. 2-4 weeks) following the official release date (when it is available in stores). This ensures that all players have equal and full access to the cards, thus, no one player or players have an undue advantage. The other two TCG side events are limited play (you receive new unopened booster packs) and the GBA event does not use cards.

I'm sure that Pokemon Organized Play (POP) will be publishing guidelines covering all these issues when it launches in October.

See you on Saturday.

im from michigan but am vacationing in az and seeing as theres none in az i might be able to come to that one but chances are still up in the air

This question is mostly geared towards the Head Judges.

Would Reverse Holo-Recycle Energy be considered a Promo? I think it was released during that time frame.

Similar to how Reverse Holo-Rainbow Energy was considered a promo and was allowed in Neo-on Modifed format for a brief period of time before it got reprinted in Expedition.

according to pojo.com, Recycle Energy was released September of 2002, so it should also be legal, just like Snorlax #49.
heres a link to pojo's promo page. http://www.pojo.com/priceguide/uspromosOTHER.html

Nevermind the headjudges then, anyone care to express their opinions?
What do you mean "never mind the head judges"? ::sniff:: / ;)

Sorry for replying late into this thread; I went on vacation for a while and am just now getting caught back up on stuff.

Yeah, I'd venture to say that Recycle Energy should be legal. Does anyone disagree? ::crickets chirping::

See y'all there,
- CHRISBO (head judge)

assuming I dont keel over and die, My daughter and I should be showing up, she'll be playing, I'll most likely be helping.

I totally disagree and believe Recycle Energy should NOT be legal.

Why..........just to tick off WARBUZZ thats why, j/k

Hey, good luck to all the players this weekend at San Diego. Especially those guys from the LA/OC area. TrEkIeV, maybe you should build a grass sandstorm deck and play against that one guy

Wish I could show up, but my brother MIGHT be able to show. Have fun everyone!!!!!

Congratulations to Karl and crew for a well run and fun event. The TO not only was organized and gracious, but respected the finer points of the game. Chrisbo, SD_Pokemom and IPGEEK21 did the usual great job judging and leading.

hey, thanks to everyone that made this event possible. My family and I had alot of fun.

The only sad note that I must bring up, is that apparantly my daughter (who was in the 10 and under group) was paired up against another kid with poor sportsmanship (and constantly kept telling her "your cards are pathetic"). Luckily my kid didnt let it get to her.

So on that note, anyone who is going to another one of these with their kids, please remember to go over the basics of good sportsmanship with them so we can keep it friendly for everyone.

Thanx to Carl and everyone else who made this event what I would call a total success. Thanx to Bulbasnore, Chrisbo, Lance, SD_Pokemom, TrEkIeV, and Ipgeek21 too!! It was really fun talking to all of you! I look forward to next times 5 second pizza dash!!! ^_-
Cant wait for the next tourny!!

PS. Cattdreams, I managed to come up against the same person I played at the WSTS, last time he was disqualified for language and attitude!! I think Bulbasnore and Lance heard him he was right next to us... Well, it seemed like todays conduct was worthy of disqualification to but nevertheless... Some people do need sportsmanship lessons..
