I just dont understand why people dont like Absol G :(
I mean I personally love the card (Beside the fact absol is my favorite pokemon)
It can hit for 70... for 1 energy... (More than luxray)
Its got a nice power, that literally destroys your opponents set up if used at the best time...
Besides the fighting weakness (Luxray has fighting weakness too) its quite good.
Resistance to psychic which is ran quite a lot...
It has potential, what do you think?

Has to discard a card and the power isn't that great. Also its other attacks arnt that great. Not to mention it doenst really have any good partners.
 
- it has 100 HP, Luxray and Garchomp have 110
- it has one retreat, Luxray and Garchomp have free
- the power is flippy and most times useless, unless you play a Chatot before
- fighting weakness
- it does 60 for one energy, not 70 - special darkness is not searchable!
- both attacks from the non-Lv.X aren't that good
 
Plus to actually be able to do 60 damage via Absol G lvX you have to constantly dump valuable resources just to do mediorce damage, which becomes an issue late game.
 
I love Absol G.

He's just not good for the million reasons above.

I don't think 100 vs 110 HP makes a huge difference, but I may be very wrong there; what I think does kill it is that Darkness Slugger requires you to burn your resources to do decent damage, it can't move around fluidly like most SPs, and its power isn't all that great. You can't compare it to Luxray since Luxray can choose its target.

Doom News sounds just so awesome, buuut... sorry, they can retreat out of it. It's funny to use against Belted Donphans though!

That's quite a difference, since some popular attackers (Charizard, Jumpluff) have a variable damage output where 100 is easier to reach than 110. Gyarados just needs 1 Crobat instead of 2 Crobat or an Expert Belt. Dialga X with Expert Belt can OHKO Absol. Blastoise shoots 100 to any Pokémon. (and so on)

Most Donphans run a combination of multiple Warp Point and Warp Energy. If they don't, you could just poison them with Crobat G as well.

People still use Jumpluff??? lol for really.

I just always assume Gyarados is Belted. Belted Dialga X is a really good one I didn't think of though.

And... yeah, warp point is just sadface.
 
Simple. It is completely out classed by luxray, blaziken, garchomp, and many more. That 10 HP is a difference when it comes down to burning a bat drop or not, the attack isn't that amazing, and its power is partially game changing if you get the flips, though it could just fail completely. IMO it will be better once triumphant comes out (anyone make an abreviation for it yet??) though it might not even be that great then either.
 
it sucks this year but before spiritomb came out and wrecked it in the face i went 23-2 with it at BR's. people dont give it cred but i beat luxray stuff and everything
