Why T2 Bibarel?

Origins

I keep hearing roomers that T2 Bibarel was a good play for cities. But why thoe? I really don't get it :frown:

Overall, I guess it can beat Gengar, and maybe some other stuff. But take a look at Scizor MD, its like exactly the same. Only he does 10+ more damage, has a better PokeBody, and probable a better first attack too. Better weakness and ALOT better retreat. His basic Scyther just seems more fitted for a T2 deck if you can't get Scizzor out by turn 2 for some reason.

So why play Bibarel when you've got Scizor?

I think because it's a beaver^^
It's funny.
You don't have to take it all that serious...
It is good, but funny aswell... and that's the reason I will play it :p

The rumor is NESS said it was a good play NOT he was playing it and it is a rather quick and efficient T2 deck just give it a try and see for yourself why!:thumb:

It is a decent play, but I think it's strength lies in this:

Bibarelplayer22 and Elitist555 are playing at a tournament.
Bibarelplayer22 mulligans about five times and eventually pulls out a bidoof.
Both players flip over there basics and Elitist555 is thinking "I iz gonna pwnz dis n00b."
Bibarelplayer then sets up a swarm of Bibarels and completely destroys his opponent.

Basically to sum it up, Bibarel is a decent play, especially against overconfident players(Which sadly are all to common in pokemon.)

Additionally, he resists special conditions, being switched out by Roar/Gyro Ball/etc., being Amnesia-ed (in a mirror match even), and other tricksy, tricksy effects of attacks. If your metagame has much of that, [DEL]ignorance[/DEL] unawareness can be bliss

A good bibarel plays more than only a 4-4 bibarel line.

Really? Hmmmmmmmmm I thought the point was straight Bibarel. However, my point still remains that it would work well against overconfident players.

I think it is an excellent card for an uncommon.

My inital thoughts lean towards Mesprit and wager, maybe Uxie too with high roseanne's/quick ball, pluspower and multi. Maybe some way to burn your hand just to rush through to those Bibarels and pluspowers asap.

Electrode is another excellent uncommon.

Electrode/Rayquaza is appealing too. It's childish, but I like the idea of burning through :lightning: and stacking them on a Rayquaza. Fast and lethal attack when you need it. Electro Diffusion looks like a great attack to go with the free retreat. In theory, bad luck can turn into good luck - after losing a flip on Electro Diffusion, you could win a few flips on 'quaza straight into 150 damage. Like the Redshift deck I played last season, keeping your opponent on edge with suprises from every angle is very effective despit the gamble factor. Electrode Ion Blast supports the rush strategy and provides energy acceleration without taking energy from the discard. You could Outlet to grab a :lightning: T1, evolve and do 100 T2, then T3 your Rayquaza has two energy (one from Energy Shift and one from hand). With two heads from Speed Gain, you have 150 turn 3. That's not very likely, but the threat is huge.

That's an example of another potential speed attacker with a bit more firepower but a bit more risk.

I have to agree. Scyther is a better choice for turn two sixty. Then after turn two you can evolve it into a Scizor and do w/e that card does for the rest of the game. Assuming you want to play past turn two with your turn two deck.

Bibarel is great in a meta that's dominated by things that do damage counters (some dusknoir and gengar) or that do status conditions on attack (magnezone lv. X and such). It's fast and does good damage. It's not so hot vs pure damage (beedrill, machamp, skittles, etc)....

There are some other interesting possiblitiles with the deck like Palkia + Mantine for all sorts of control.

I have been playing around with this card ever since I got my box of Ifds, and saw the scans. Its NOT a Power hitter, but it has Great benifits, lol!!!

Seriously though, this card is AMAZING as a T2 deck. The Body, IMO, the BEST in the Format!

WHAT!?!?!?
The only real GOOD thing about it is that it can do t2 60.
It IS a power hitter!
The body is not even close to the best in the format.
Read Glaceon Lv.X.

You cant be serious, I like Glaceon, but Warp Point! Prevent ALL effects of attacks, thats Awesome!:thumb:

WHAT!?!
I really hope you're joking.
Dude, you can only have so many warp points, and the fact that you arent killing the main threat but ensuring that after every KO it will be brought up again...
You sir, are just SILLY!
