Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Why use Phione?

I have been studying and comparing many of the ways that people decide on which Pokemon they want to start with. In theory you should want a card that gains a large amount of card advantage and then can also serve other ways if it is found late game. So my question is Why Phione? Everyone seems to think that Phione is worth it, in fact it seems to be wanted as often as Empoleon himself. I understand that it is a better version of a certain Jirachi card, but I can't find a list of that deck. The only reason I can see his use is if you us Phione with a call energy to save on the dead weight that Pachirisu's become after using their Call for Family more than once. If there is a special reason I should run this Pokemon in my decks, please tell me.

Well, it seems to be ok to evolve to Kirlia, Wish for Gardevoir, and begin Telepass turn three...

Phione Call Energy, Excellent combination, nuff said.

It is always really good to get a very strong control of consistency within the deck to get all of your main pokemon going T2. :thumb:

p.s. Energy switches win games, rememeber that

But do most lists run it? The Japanese have had it for a while, and from what I heard it's not very popular over there, I was wondering if there was a reason for that. Maybe I should run my 2 iPhones then.

PHIONE SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!

ill take pachirisu over phione anyday

i got a phione wanna trade for a pachi?

To **** with Phione being a great "late game card." The truth is that most setup cards (Dunsparce, anyone?) are NOT great in the late game...It's just a fact you have to deal with.

Anyways, in my experience, Phione is superb as a single or double copy in most setup decks. The reason is because it's a great way to play out of a terrible start!

Example:

-I have a Roseanne/Call, a random basic, and a bunch of useless early game cards. What will turn this awful start into a fantastic one?

Answer: Jirachi DX, HL, Phione, Chatot, etc. Anything that corrects a bad start, really.

Whatever John said is the real Q.F.T. about Phione. :)

Apart from Call energy, which is always good.

You can start off with it to get out basics, then use it as energy later in the game. Win!

It's pretty obvious you're new, so just a tidbit. A shame that you'll never see the late game unless you run really good early game cards, chew on that and you've learned a lot in terms of deckbuilding.

pachirisu will be a much better card late game and still is - buffer piece/cessation/amulet coin/bubble coat(LA)

Phione especially come next set - T4 stage 2s
Actually, the funny thing is, I see phione being a better late game card then pachi too. Get a claydol back after wager+omastar, get a stage 1 after you burned all your candy (and you need to sac something for a prize) and heck, 30+sleep is not that bad and can win a game.

I have been playing since pokemon first came out, and I still think that Phione with a Call energy is better than Phione with Pachirisu

And you are completely right.

Phione allows you to accelerate your stage twos to be able to setup as fast as stage ones, in addition to allowing for deck search to speed your pokemon evo up (unlike rare candy, which requires hand resources).

A pokemon who can work for any deck that wants evolutions and can allow you to be able to evolve a turn sooner than you were supposed to and allow for you to setup with no drawback whatsoever.

You fail to see why this card is good?

See you at the bottom of the rankings then.
