I like to browse Wikipedia, a lot. Sometimes I look through the List of Pokemon, and check out some of them I'm unfamiliar with. I've noticed some of the information regarding the trading card game is not up to date. So, if I'm bored, I'll edit it. My question is, does anyone here ever contribute to Wikipedia?

Wikipedia is the 2nd best website in the world, behind Uncyclopedia.

I have contributed both positively and negatively to it.

You should see my link in my sig.
Meh, it's good for some things, bad for others...

AND WAY TOO MANY CRAPPY SPIN-OFFS.

Wikipedia is great. A lot of the articles, especially hobby articles, tend to be rather poorly written and arranged. I fix up any of those I find. Right now I'm just sticking the Magic storyline ones. It can be time-consuming.

The best thing to do with Wikipedia is to...

a. not rely on the actual article for said topic

b. just visit the sites that are mentioned as citations at the bottom of the topic's page.

Nobody in their right minds would use an encyclopaedia of any sort for serious research. I tried that several years ago, when I discovered I had a whole module in Classical Greek Politics to cover two days before the exam and couldn't get to the college library. Six paragraphs in World Book were all I could find. I failed that exam, but thankfully passed the other two exams and so survived overall. Point is, even the most authoritive and respected encyclopaedias are mere launchpads for more detailed reading.

I absolutely love the website. I'll visit it just to look something random up that I'm thinking about. What I love most about the site is how I can be reading about something and click the blue hyperlinks and read about something sorta related once I'm done. One can really learn a lot from a hour on the site.

If the article on wiki seems odd(like a fish that can breathe in space), check it up on google or other sites, just to make sure.

I believe there is that one Fish that can breathe in Space. There was a big cover up, the government tried to catch it but Wikipedia claim ownership and keep it very well hidden.

Yeah, I merely enjoy reading the site for information and find myself spending time reading more and more based upon clicking the hyperlinks. It is a good site, and does provide a starting place for people who are curious regarding some topics.

Oh, and Dom wins the thread.

Encyclopedia Dramatica is made of good and win. I go on at least twice a day.

And I also love Wikipedia; however, they do have their fair share of inaccuracies, so I check the sources OR take one thing I liked from an article and do further research(such as the Seven Cardinal Sins; I'm Wiccan but the sins are pretty cool despite becoming rather cliche in media).
