Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Will we be able to live to 1,000?

You know what, I really don't want to live to 1,000. You have to realize this, the older you are, the more you see, and I really don't want to see more pain, suffering, war, hunger, and destruction.

Agreed. Even if it became possible, I wouldn't want to.

Not to mention, I see it being rather expensive. :/

Probably 50K per year they take off or something. lol

Probably at first, but only because it would be a new technology. Like all new technologies, the price would probably go down over time.

The only real problem I see with this is overpopulation. Millions of people die everyday because of it. And you want to make them live for a thousand years? Yeah, sure.

It's obvious there's the plus of not being afraid of growing old and dying to come at this, but let's look at the other pluses. What would the mind of a man the age of 956 have to say? Can you imagine a learning and growing mind of such an age? Even if this new technology does intensify the population problem, imagine how much more advanced our societies could become, I bet that before we would succumb to a lack of resources that we would find a manner in which to solve these dilemmas thanks to the great sages this technology can create. I initially thought that this idea was going to make things absolutely atrocious, but after thinking about it, there's a lot to be said about a sound mind over the age of 250.

QFT.

It would be like having an earth full of Yodas.

Sig'd

this would be really cool, but at the same time I could see myself not wanting to live that long. Especially if it is just becoming available during our lifespans. If its new, its likely that nor everyone will use it, so You'd most likely live you see most of your friends and family die before you're 1/10 the way through your enhanced lifespan.

On the plus, once it because a common practice, this problem is solved and we just have to worry about population growth, which I'm sure can be solved through a combination of better resource management and population limiting policies such as a limit on the number of children people can have or something.

I want to live forever.
This would be amazing, and is what I hope happens.

For a long time, this is why I lived (this hope).

We can terraform Mars in 200 years. Don't worry about overpopulation. We just need to get moving.

This. I'd love to live for that kind of extended time period, it would give everybody a chance to really learn a lot, leave a mark and do incredible things.

They spell aging as "ageing" every time the word is used in that article, wich leads me to question it's credibility.

Otherwise, yes, i agree with ryanvergal.

In british english it is spelt ageing, and as it is a british site it is spelt correctly.

EDIT: ARG, Arcanite NINJA'D me =(

It's a British Article (BBC) that's how the British spell Aging (just like they spell Color as Colour, etc)

Like so many other things, I feel like the majority of the world simply isn't ready to deal with changes to anything that might be mentioned in an ancient textbook.

It is possible? Yes. Just about anything's possible with infinite time and resources.

Would I want it? There aren't enough letters in the word 'no' to adequately express the 'noness" of my answer.
