Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Will Zekrom even be a threat? (HGSS-on)

well I have built this deck and have been testing it out since b/w came out and like tested it against myself for like I think 20 games now (like half were one sided set ups) and I have been getting zekrom out T1 like 90% of those games. I mean if you go first and get zekrom out, how would your opponent be able to revenge ko it with a thing that can do 90+ damage? with no bts, rare candy being nerfed, no donphan T1, no stage 2 T1, and there is bouffalant but there is a chance that they don't have it.

People are writing off Zekrom because they think it has early game speed but is less effective in the long game?

People obviously have very short memories.

LuxChomp- Good late game
Gyarados- Great late game
Vilegar- Great late game
Dialga- good late game
VileChamp- Good late game w/ Prime
Magnezone- Great late game
Steelix- Great late game

I honestly don't know what decks you're referring to

The difference between Zekrom and Sabledonk is very, very stark; Sabledonk wins the game under specific conditions in a single turn. Zekrom, on the other hand, still has to play a game to win - you can't repeat flash bites and poke blowers for over 100 damage on the first turn before even attacking anymore. This means that against anything other than a single basic start, your opponent will have a 100% chance to make a move, which seeing a Zekrom will mean he pulls out his best consistency plays.

Also, I haven't seen anyone post a decklist along with their math; I don't think it's so difficult to build that we need to keep it a secret, so why don't the people getting the results they claim post what they have so we can confirm it?

Zekrom's late game isn't that bad, it's hard but if you pull off a donk you've set them back a turn, also remember evo's need a turn to be played so you can go first, take a prize, they can't take a prize, you take another one and by then you should have another Zek setup, along with the disruption you can play in Judge coupled w/Yanmega as a backup attacker you don't need to hit a charged up Zekrom every turn.

I actually run this deck and it works very well. obviously now without uxie set up, every deck is going to be slow and a little more inconsistent than before. but almost all my first draw has consisted of some way to get shaymin pachi and zekrom all in my hand. i run 4 questions and 14 energies and it works extremely well, i have gotten donks many times

Here is a basic skeleton list. 16 energy 3 interviewer. An unown dark and a single dark energy for a searchable energy barring prizes. 4 dual balls is a must and hand refresh (oak). 4 collector is a must aswell, junk arm, is also needed. That's the basic engine, you can test around that for the most part. You can tweak from there, but remember that the more nonsense in your opening hand that does not contribute to the t1 KO the worst this will perform.

So, how many would be good to run 2 or 3 or what? Sorry bout getting off-topic guys so I'll get back on topic....
anyways, I understand you all doubting Zekrom since we saw how LostGar flopped after being hyped, and truthfully only time wil tell if this is hyped or not. I am not saying it's BDIF(in fact isn't a BDIF only a myth?), but it definetely has a lot of potential, atleast some lower tier 1 potentiality. Now, if you have ever read my sig you can see I am cautious aboout the hype, that is why I test before I play, as you should too. So, all of you that are talking bad about Zekrom please atleast test it out a few times against the deck of your choice.

Your sig that was taken from my article

Every hype case should be judged on its own merits. Lostgar failing doesn't mean Zekrom will. In fact the Japanese meta for Zekrom is quite close to ours while it was completely different for Lostgar. Honest playtesting against good opponents/list will give some idea of how ell Zekrom will do. The real proof will have to wait until US Nats/Worlds.

First of all, thanks for telling me it was yours(I didn't know who's it was, specifically XD) Anyways, that's true on what you said
