Wobbuffet and Gengar

If there is an active Wobbuffet with a Wobbuffet on the bench who is attacked by a poisoned Pokemon with a grass energy and a Virizion on their bench (active Pokemon is poisoned because Wobbuffet is shutting off Verdant Wind), would Verdant Wind kick in between turns (before the new Wobbuffet is promoted) and turn off poison or is the KO'ed Wobbuffet and it's replacement of the newly promoted Wobbuffet keep the defending poisoned?

tldr; would the active Pokemon with a grass energy still be poisoned or not?

There is no game time where you don't have an Active Pokemon. The replacement of one Wobbuffet with the other is instantaneous, as far as the game is concerned.
Verdant Wind remains off.
