Woop's VA State Championship Report!

My son's magma list is very similar to yours... He's about to enter the 11-14 age group, so its good to read that magma is still doing well in that age group.

I like the 1x Swoop Teleporter: have to find a way of fitting it in, probably in place of his 4th Conspirator. The other difference is one VS seaker in stead of your single Celio's.

There's a lot of Rock Lock, Draggy and Monarchy around in the UK at the moment. Though he is doing well with magma, the UK environment seems to have turned against it :( I wonder if the single Swoop teleporter will be enough to improve Magma's performance against both draggy and Monarchy.

Magma should not be having trouble with Dark Dragonite decks. The match should be Magma's unless your start is poor. You KO both Dark Dragonite and Rocket's Sneasel ex in one shot. Rocket's Scyther ex makes the match a little bit more difficult in the Dragonite it's Teched into, but that's why there are two Magma's Camerupt. Actually, there would be 2 Magma's Camerupt anyway, but you know what I mean.

Magma's matchup with Rock-Lock is difficult. You have to hit hard and fast. You can not play a conservative game, because Sand Damage will DESTROY you. But since Dark Ampharos is basically useless to Rock-Lock, Magma can pull off the win.

Versus Monarchy, I haven't really tested. It's old and outdated in the United States, so I don't really know how the matchup is. But the Swoop! Teleporter and Celio's Network really do help.

lol, Nobody, doesn't Talim pwn? XD

Very detailed, but very long report. At this rate I see your Regional Report being so long that it'll take 2 posts. To show everyone the long it took you we should give you a symbol sowing that you the longest post in the Tournament section.

I give you props for doing so well with a deck that doesn't see as much play. It's also sad to hear that this may be your last major tournament in the 11-14 group. And I might want to somehow find a way to travel 70 miles once or twice a week, so I can get friendly with Greg and his group, so I can possibly go to more than like 1 Premire event about every 3-4 months.

And Gardy isn't played that much anymore. Only a few oddballs like me play it.

Very entertaining report, seriously and congratulations on T8. How 'bout a deck copyright so people can't use someone's deck idea without permission. Wait, Magma. Oh well.

Now that's funny!

Does anyone's eyes hurt like mine do now? Thanks Woop!

G/J on the T-8.

Have your fingers healed from all the typing?

Yeah... good report! I love going to tournys with you cause you post my reports too 0_o. Yeah, I ended up having to pay
pure cash for the DS. And to my disapointment, and Daniels relief, my packs sucked =(. Oh well.

Hot Mustid - And it was a sad, sad day. ;p

CrimsonWarrior26 - I think I do deserve some kind of award. =) It's really too bad I can't go to either Regional Championship, because one is in Pennsylvania and one is in southern North Carolina, and I'm definitely not enough of a nerd to drive three hours for Pokeymanz.

However, I am a big enough nerd to type up a 7.5 thousand word report...

Bulbasnore - Haha. =/ The reason is looks so similar to the winning Japanese Magma deck is because I started with my own list like so:

Pokemon: 14
4 Team Magma's Zangoose
4 Team Magma's Groudon
2 Team Magma's Baltoy
2 Team Magma's Claydol
1 Team Magma's Numel
1 Team Magma's Camerupt

Energy: 17
7 Fighting
1 Rainbow
1 Psychic
4 Dark
4 Magma

Trainers: 29
4 Steven's Advice
3 TV Reporter
3 Magma Ball
3 Team Magma Conspirator
1 Copycat
1 Celio's Network
3 Pokemon Reversal
2 Magnetic Storm
2 Mr. Briney's Compassion
2 Maxie
2 Swoop! Teleporter
1 Switch
1 Warp Point
1 Strength Charm

This was the list I started out with. As you can see, it differs greatly from the Japanese list, but in time I came to realize that I really needed that second Camerupt, and I was attacking with Claydol a lot more than I thought, so I needed a second Rainbow energy. The trainers I tweaked without Yamato's deck even in mind, and eventually came to the trainer list I have now, but I'm still tweaking.

dld4a - My fingers are rather blistered now, but it's from playing the guitar. Of course, this report didn't exactly help me towards un-blistered fingers.

Devon - Haha, I told you you shouldn't have opened them. Get Super Mario 64 for the DS. It's the coolest thing you'll ever see in your life, except myself, of course. ;/ Hey, awesome job on second place! Regionals are in Philly, PA and Greensboro, NC, this year, so we probably can't go. Start begging your mom to road trip us right now! ^_^

I'm only kept alive by your replies, guys! ;_;

Go to Regionals or die Wooper. /sarcasm for you Mods :/

I will meet you at Worlds this year. And don't even tell me you won't make it BECAUSE YOU WILL. Get it through your head, Woop, you will go to Worlds. If I could bring a friend because I was 18+ I would bring you obv. So anyway, win a GC, be a good little boy, and meet me at Worlds so we can party. :D
