Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Worlds 2006 - Day 3: Main Event - Top32 (Finals)

He's been playing Eeveelutions all season and has been doing really well with it. Somehow the deck has just flown under the radar this whole time.

You US are very lucky! Me and Gatsu had not the possibility to fight in the 15+....
There will be one year in which the right people will win nats and then going to worlds. It's 2 years that noobs won nats.....

I barely know Eeveelutions' matchups, so I couldn't say whether or not Ness has the upper hand or not. As we all know, Drag Off ruins Mewtric, so Umbreon ex could be a big problem. However, Battle Frontier lock shuts off Umbreon ex. If Jason gets off to a roaring start and locks the Frontier, he could stop Umbreon ex's GOW-esque power from taking effect. What this doesn't stop is Umbreon ex's resistance to the psychic-type Mew ex. Ness will probably go the Manectric ex route if he has the option, as no Eeveelution in Jimmy's deck can boast of nailing Manectric ex's fighting weakness.

I'm saying Ness wins it in 3, but I'm hesitant to call it because of my lack of knowledge about the matchup.

THE FINALS

Jason Klaczynski (US) (10/2)
MewTrick
vs.
Jimmy Ballard (US) (10/2)
EVILutions

scenario a.
Jason gets a god start and goes first, T2 Manectric disconnect. Jimmy is locked and struggles all game to get control (no ER2, super scoop up to reuse eevo's, and reversal/pow, gym shutdown becuase NESS BETTER BE RUNNING CURSED STONE), while Ness continues to chip away at Jimmy's pokes while shuting his trainers off. Jimmy's only luck is to admin away Jason's hand late game and get his evil pokes up and KO a manny or mew so he can play some trainers next turn. Ness can pow/reversal or copy an Umbreon's drag off or maybe something bigger. Jimmy has to make sure his Jolteon exes stay off the field. Because a Second Bite copied from Mew ex could be HUGE. My guess is Jason wins.

scenario b.
Jason gets a bad start... nothing but a lone mew or elektrike with crappy draw no admin.... This will give Jimmy the upperhand and allow him to get his Pidgeot and Eevees going as he slowly but surely controls the field. Ness might get a lucky break but a)its too late and b)NO need to disconnect now, Jimmy is setup. Jason will have to copy a dragoff from Umbreon or something.... this scenario could be in Jason's or Jimmy's favor. 50/50 either way.

scenario c.
Everything goes Jason's way...... or everything goes Jimmy's way.

ROKMAN'S 06 CHAMPION PICK:
Jason Klaczynski (US)

Jason just has so much versatality in this game. Using the eevo's against him could be major. Although, I like both guys, I think ness will take it. Both of you guys played great ALL DAY! Props and I'll see both of you BOIZ (haha :b) in HAWAII...

What kind of Eeveelution deck does Jimmy have - regular stuff (UF) or ex's?

Exs. It's the version he won his State Championship with month ago.

Rokman, Jason can't copy Umbreon's GOW. That's a power, not an attack. I'd agree that the matchup appears to be in Ness's favor, though.

Is Eeveevolution considered a "rogue"? I think it can do it...Flareon ex power is powerful! Special condition are very dangerous for MewTrick.

Its official..

Jason K. is your 2006 World Champion..

The Japanese 10- Player also has won his set of games, becoming the 10- world champion.
