Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Worst Star Ever

i think in this day and age that mewtwo is the best star cause it one hit K.O's everything in Gardillade

I think that you have to look at which ones under all circumstances in a tourney should you not every be able to pull off or want to. I think that Alex (Chuck) is right about Charizard*. As kid maybe able to pull it off but for the effort and what it entails is it really a good option? I dont think it is worth it, but that is just my thought on this.

Nah,Charizard * at least can get abused by flygon at least. Pikachu is just garbage and Kyogre is,its just not a attractive card.

Everyone needs to stop saying Pikachu* is garabage, it isnt. I dont think people remember but it has almost the same attacks as the 3 Team Rocket Return's stars and they were played by a bunch of players. Heck, some players won with the cards in the deck. I dont see how 2 for 70 is bad EVER if you dont have to discard anything.

JMO,

Hmm, worst star. Well, ALOT of stars were bad, but im going to have to go with the Regis, I had all three of them at one time. I looked at them and immediately said "wow, these suck", and traded them. But MoP is right, they did look pretty dang cool =)

yeah yeah celebi* that sucks ;) i just hope no one looks at it lol

gyrados wins hands down,

charizard is horrible, 150 and discard 5 energies sucks in this format to the best of my knowledge, it just sucks that sw weavile and basic d weren't around in the era of exs because it could be nasty if you get to one hit a big ex

i wouldn't say alakazam is above mew and jolteon, only a small amount of people ever played with alakazam, i didn't see the season before worlds 06 but in 06-07 season, it didn't see any tournament wins that i personally know of but jolteon* was in the deck that won worlds and nats and mew* was in R-gon and possibly metanite if they couldn't get lati@s*

Charizard may see some play with darkrai being around now. Let's do more damage! Woo! I'd have to say, that in current format, Mew* has to be one of the best ones out there. Gyarados has potential, but at the risk of losing your whole deck? I think not.

it's just not worth the 2 turns it takes to deal 150 if you shadow charge 2 times, you could just attack for damage for those 3 turns with just about anything to the same effect , but much less of a downside

gyrados has potential to do damage, like say in fire truk, ustream to create a deck of pure energy, but whose going to want to power his attack ever? and you'd need an upstream again to recover i just don't think it's playable

jolteon* and mew are tyed for best in this format, jolteon * works with a lot of pokes like gyrados MT, and mew COULD be used in magmorter

all the *s we have are either horrible or only work in one scenario if fire weakness wasn't so bad celebi would be the most broken star right now, with sceptile it does 40 to anything for 2 and it has a chance of imortality, it's INSANE if we had fall battleroads i would DEF play sceptile tangrowth celebi, but i'm not playing grass at states, it would be dumb and that's the only reason i would point out to others how good celebi is, because grass is almost unplayable

Charizard* really isn't worth the effort. You power it up, then you have to discard all those cards you worked so hard to get on him. 150, though it is more then enough for this format, once per GAME isn't good enough.

Gyrados* may have potional with Delcatty ex, but, like Charizard*, it's not worth it. Sure, it KOes alot, doing like 130, BUT you lose your deck. Which is bad. On the bright side, it provides plenty of food for Upstream, but really...

Celebi* would be VERY good with Sceptile, except for two things:
1. Both Sceptile and Celebi* have a Weakness to Magmortar, plus Mag Lv.X can snipe Sceptile.
2. You can only have 1 Celebi* in your deck, which means it can be Prized, and having only 1 of your main attackers is NOT a good idea.

Entei*, Suincune* and Raikou*, however, are the worst *s ever. I REALLY hope I don't have to explain WHY. But if I do... discarding ALL Energy attached to ALL your Pokemon for a mere 70 damage is BAD. That's Suincune. 70 and 20 to ALL your Bench is TERRIBLE. This is Raikou. And I forget what Entei does. But I think my point is proven, we have gotten almost NO good *s. Latias, Latios, Rayquaza, Jolteon, Mew, these were all semi-plausible. But really, there's, like, nothing. So yeah.

i never said celebi * would be a main attacker, you and everyone else are right about losing to mag, it just has too many disadvantages,

i really think alakazam could be broken this year if mew ex was still around, electivire lvl x and garchomp lvl x, would be cool to use,

Notice how I used the plural in main attackers. I meant that without Celebi, you'd basicly be running straight Tangrowth, as Sceptile isn't that good of an attacker. Besides, I wasn't refering ONLY to your post when I said that.

The best * cards are, without question, the Latis and Mew.

Conversely, there are quite a few that could tie for worst: the Regis, Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, and Pikachu.

The most overlooked * cards would probably be Celebi* (great w/Sceptile GE, as mentioned above), Umbreon* (w/Honchkrow/Absol), and possibly Alakazam* when/if Garchomp Lvl. X comes out.

I agree on Pikachu *. I mean...wow:

Pikachu * :)lightning)
Basic
60 HP
Weakness: :fighting: (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat Cost: :colorless

:colorless Thundershock (10)
Flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Pokemon is now Paralyzed.

:lightning:lightning Spring Back (20+)
If your opponent has only 1 Prize card left, this attack does 20 damage plus 50 more damage.

From a playability standpoint, this is the very definition of epic fail.

But the artwork is awesome. Pikachu just standing there, arms crossed, all badass and such. Very Chuck Norris-like.
