Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Would you be a PTO without the rewards?

For me this is a resounding YES!!! Since I started running leagues, running/judging tournaments back in 2001, I absolutely love doing it. I would rather do that than play. When I do play it is more for fun but I still play competitively. I do have a son that plays (much better than me) so I leave it up to him for winning the rewards. Even with the trips "up for grabs" in upcoming Gym Challenges, Nationals, Stadiums I would still rather judge/assist than play for a trip. Although I already know that we will go to Origins (Nationals) and Worlds (Florida) and it is easier since we live in the US, I would still feel the same way if we lived in Europe.

As a TO and GL here in good ol' Great Britain I obviously know exactly what Ben is talking about.I personally dont need ( or want ) to get paid mega bucks ( preferably £'s ) for organizing and running my league and tournaments.I will be running both a CC and a pre-release and I guess I would do it just for the love of the game, although I would love to get some cards by way of payment. Most of my reward comes from my players such as a young lad called Simon who,the other night, got through to his first final and his beaming face when he got his promos for his runner up place was a picture!! Possibly people like Ben should get more out of it because of what he puts in! After all, half the tourneys in the UK wouldn't get off the ground if it wasn't for people like 'Pro and NoPoke!

The question is : WHAT is a PTO?
IN Europe: . THERE ARE NO PTO'S in the same way there are in the US.

I did the first National Prerelease (dragon), so that should make me PTO, but nothing less I even don't get the official League status.

There was NO reward for the organizer or judges NOTHING, (sorry one prereleasecard)

For the CC I know that the doormoney is going to the distributor.(we are not allowed to organize so Í don't have all the details)
The pricesupport is only half the standard (as displayed on the tcg international CC website) and that is in this case 1 boosterbox per agegroup to be split up.
But this time there is a compensation for the Judges ( I believe travelexpences but not sure)

The answer on would you be a PTO without the rewards.

I can only answer:
I am already a super PTO without rewards, without official status, without promocards, but with the nicest playersfield and friends around me who love this game. That's how we survived the last years and we will in the future. (with a little help from over the border  )

And for the UK, no I wouldn't take that much risk with organizing, because my budget won't allow that.
I should only do 1 or 2 CC's and States.
Sealed we will leave behind, too expensive for most players. But I would sign for a good arranged, but most of all correctly Judged State championship (in our case Nationals).
