would you consider speedrill a t1 contender?

I'm trying to decide if i should make a speedrill deck or not. i'm just wondering if it would be worth using the trainers and supporters from some of my other decks to actually make it. the thing is though....sadly, i have 0 claydol, and i figure it is an absolute must have in this deck, or would it work without it? It's so hard to get claydol at the moment, that i've basically stopped trying. anyway, give me your guys opinions on what you think =p

Wht do you mean by T1? I think most people would interpret that as "Turn One" but from your message it seems like you mean top tier or archetype? I don't think Beedrill is better than Bellossom, nor archetype material in DP-on.

RockBand is definitly an archetype at this point. It will own this format!

and....yes, Claydol is a must!

Claydol or bust. It's the best card in the deck lol

If you can get the Claydol, it's definitely a solid choice. I haven't tested it DP-on, but I'm sure it would do very well.

I find that Beedrill lacks the consistency of decks like Kingdra and Magmorter/Leafeon. It is a “Basic Build Up” type of deck. You have to get all of your basics out and evolved to do the type of damage that wins games.

In my mind I lump Beedrill in with Politoad decks, Bellossom, Eevelutions, and even Gilscor to a certain extent. They have a major flaw in that they need most of their basics out on the bench simultaneously and most times they all have to be evolved. Once your opponent starts getting KOs your power is reduced more and more, or your basics are prized, or one gets Donked. All of this shuts the deck down very quickly, there are so many things to go wrong.

Now don’t get me wrong they have great potential and when everything goes good these decks own much.

So if you feel lucky a few things you can do to help this type of deck.

1 - Be sure you put a 2-2 Claydol line in to give you as many chances as possible to get the cards you need.
2 – At least 2 Azelf LA I would run 3 personally, this will help you get the cards you need out of your prizes.
3 – Absolutely need 4 Night Maintenance, this is your only chance to survive a few KO's this combos very well with Roseanna's and rare candy.
4 – Depending on how many Pokemon you have Quickball is normally very good in this kind of deck.
5 – 4 Rare Candy of course.

yeah srry about that, I meant tier 1, or Archetype. thing is though, I have the beedrills and the other cards, but those pesky claydols are killing me right now.if anyone has any spares check out my thread, I just got some new LA cards.....

You've obviously never played the deck if you think it's supposed to play out like Kriketune or something. The deck has amazing flexibility thanks to 1 energy attacks and free retreat, and it's extremely easy to set back up after one Bee gets knocked out. Claydol may be the best card in the deck, but Night Maintenance is a very close second.

honestly, i'm sick of hearing about claydol, but i guess i was asking for it. it seems like NO ONE wants to trade any that they have. and even if they do, they want WAYYYYY to much for them. I realize they are fairly rare, and an obvious staple in every deck, but they are seriously frustrating, i've been buying GE packs out the wazoo, and still nothing. still no candies either, but i just got some in a trade, so i'm not trying too hard to get those anymore

Look to ebay to solve your claydol problems. If you do not have Claydols, do not run speedrill! The deck falls on its face, cries it brains out, and begs to be put out of its misery without it.

I really would not consider it a T1 contender. It is good, but it is not 111ZOMG BBQ I R GON WIN ALL MAH TOURNAMENTS NAO111 good. I would rank it around T2 with a killer build and T3 with an average one. It's main problem is that MagLeaf is going to see a lot of play, and Magmortar makes beedrill very sad. It is an archetype, but things do not have to be T1 to be an archetype. Just look at Mario and Hurricane.

This is just a general piece of advice if you need a specific card or cards for a deck. Instead of buying packs, save your money to get that specific card. You could easily spend $30 on GE packs and never get a claydol, or use the same $30 to get definitely get claydols. On average, it ends up being cheaper.

Wow that was a rude thing to say. Do you think I would give advice on a deck I have never played? NO. I didn't say it totally sucked I was answering the topic "is it T1?" I was pointing out that in my opinion it is inferior to at least 2 of the T1 decks that I have played. Then after you insult me you go on to repeat what I just said about Claydol and Night Maintenance.

Maybe next time you can keep your opinion to your self and just stay on topic.

Sorry if you were offended  I've played the deck for so long and I know that it's very capable of being a tier 1 deck. Working knowledge of this deck requires more than building it and playing a couple games with it, because the way most ppl on the board look at it, it's a deck that HAS to have everything set up early or it will lose. This is the case with other decks like Kriketune or certain Eeveelution builds, but not this one.

With the first player not being able to use any trainers, T1 is not that plausible.

this deck more like T2-4. Once u get claydol and some pokedrawers, u'll reach the peak of the fun of this deck.

i don know about how shaymin X will perform. I gotta try it.

There are too many decks in this format that start pummeling down damage on turn 2 for this deck to be effective. Simple as that, lol.

I like to tech 1-0-1 Gardevoir into similar decks (Bellossom) to have a faster re-build-up. It works like Nidoqueen d in older decks and can copy the opponent's Bebe, allowing to get your Weedles or Beedrills much faster.

Beedrill's only real competition will be Torterrible. However both lose horribly to The Ace (Masquerain/Ariados).
