Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

X-men Orgins: Wolverine *Possible Spoilers*

Gambit has always been my favorite...as I'm sure it has for most. There's just something about throwing pink playing cards.....

I saw it a couple months ago lol. It was pretty sick, but I didn't like how Gambit was a minor character in the only movie he has appeared in.

Yeah, um, the movie hasn't even been out for a week. How could you have seen it months ago???

Absoltrainer was wrong about the second ending after the credits:

[At the very end of the credits, Weapon 11's body grabbed his head, and his eyes opened.]

Oooooh! That would explain it. When we bought our tickets, the guy giving them to us told us to stay after the credits for a certain scene. I guess we assumed the "let down" clip of Wolverine drinking was the clip to stay after for.

Excellent movie IMO. I personally found it annoyingly unrealistic that Sabertooth could be that much stronger than Wolverine, when Wolverine clearly had the longer weapon. But whatever. I definately think we will be seeing more Origins movies seeing as this one faired so well in the theatres. They'll probably only cover a few of the main characters such as Xavier, and maybe Jean or something...I would think they'd have done an Origins movie about Cyclops, but since he's been in this movie already I doubt they will. Anywayz, great movie overall. Violence and big explosions FTW.

As a HUGE wolverine fan, I can clear up a few things.

~Sabertooth was ALWAYS stronger than Wolverine, look at his size. They both have the same healing power; i have a comic where Wolverine ran a claw up into Sabertooth's brain and Sabertooth just smiled at him as he healed.

~Wolverine's memories were actually erased by the Weapon X team before he broke out in the comics

~Professor X wasn't always paralyzed. He had a run in with Raichu. (JK) If I remember right, his brother (Juggernaut) did it to him. I might be wrong though.

~Wade was almost exactly like Deadpool; I was so glad that they did his character correctly in the beginning and upset they butchered it in the end. I'm glad he was called "Weapon XI" instead of Deadpool. That mutated freak in the end was NOTHING like Deadpool. : /

The CGI on Wolvi's claws were poorly done IMO and way too shiney/thick to be claws. His claws were always thinner and longer, not three butcher knives. I liked the film overall though and it was definitely my favorite out of the X-Men series.

I was annoyed that the trillogy never made any reference to Gambit. He has always been my favorite mutant. I was very pleased to hear he is in this movie. After seeing it I thought they did a real good job on his character. The personality and fighting style were dead on, but that accent was way too mild. He is supposed to have a very thick Creole accent. I talked to a lot of people from the South. I have heard what a real thick Creole accent is supposed to sound like. That wasn't it. Oh well, I still loved the movie

he was mentioned in the second movie but in a small part when the chic is looking through the computer his name shows up you have to pause the spot but you will see all the names there

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

also professor x can walk in the savage land it takes powers away they have and gives them something they don't have so if daredevil went there he would be able to see..

The Xmen movies have always screwed up the facts of the comic. For example: Juggernaut's mutant power was drained in the third movie. There is one major problem with that: Juggernaut is not a mutant. He was enchanted by the gem of cytorak.

But, the movies are not supposed to be completely true to the comics. They are supposed to be entertaining, artistic portrayals of the xmen story... and in that... the movies do a great job.

They DID call him deadpool though... It was only in passing but it happened. Striker specifically told Logan that he needed his healing power for "the pool... deadpool". It was only stated once but he it was there.

I remember them calling him Deadpool once, but Weapon XI is what they kept referring to as him.

That "thing" wasn't even close to deadpool.

Austino makes very good points. Now, granted these days if you're going to watch a movie based off of a book or comic, you have to go in knowing that Hollywood butchered it up, and you are more than likely not going to get ANYTHING like what you read.

To me the movie had potential to be very good, but it was poorly executed. I'm sorry the special effects in that movie were absolutely horrid. When Xavier shows up and the kids are running to him, it looks as though they are running in place in front of a green screen. When Logan blows up the hele with Maverick in it (or Zero, so stupid they didn't call him Maverick) and walks away in a cheesy 80's action hero homage. They somehow make the explosion behind him look so out of place. Then we have the bathroom scene, where Logan is examining his claws for the first time. He pops them out and instead of seeing the slim blades we have seen and SHOULD have seen, we get these big, bulky, very FAKE looking pickaxes coming out of Wolverine's hands.

Now before anyone tries to say "Duh, it's a movie, it's fake." I understand that, but we are at a time in cinema where special effects and CGI are so often used they have it down to a science. With a budget like the one Wolverine had, I'm sure they could have at least made sure that when they were using CG, it did not look so poorly done. You look at movies like Spider Man and the Hulk and the special effects are really dazzling, and very well done. However, Wolverine was not anywhere near the same standard as these. The special effects were the equivalent of something along the lines of a Sci Fi channel original movie.

Was Wolverine a bad movie? For comic readers...probably, for your avid movie goer, no. Other than the special effects dropping the ball the movie was tolerable...except for that whole "Hey box the Blob for information" bit...that was really really lame.

Overall as a movie goer, I'd give it a C+ as a movie, borderline B, but as a comic book reader and fan of Wolverine...an F

It was leaked, funny thing it was dvd quality without a few special effects.
I alas thought the movie (version lacking special effects made it extremely funny to watch.) was actually decent considering part 3 was HORRIBLE, the other 2 were okay, maybe it is because I'm not a big X-men fan.

well as striker says "His brain may heal, but his memories won't" So it keeps Wolverine's indetructabilty, but proves he can be hurt metally.

Yeah, but still, I just think it's kind of forced. OMG, he's just about nearly indestructible, so let's give him amnesia by shooting him in the head! I mean, surely they could have came up with a better way...

It has been on the internet for months, if you know where to look

This movie was terrible. The plot made no sense and the characters were all done incorrectly. I'm severely disappointed. X-Men 2&3 were much better than this.

I was very dissapointed gambit did not have more screen time, but over all a good movie. Also zero was really good at missing wolverine in that chopper, how did the bike not break?

You saw a different ending then I did.

Clearly I was not wrong because if I was then that means I need to seriously get my eyes checked. I saw what i said I saw. Perhaps there are different endings? Unless your ending was AFTER the drinking one?

EDIT:

I just stepped out of a screening of X-Men Origins: Wolverine on the Fox lot in Los Angeles and before it started, director Gavin Hood stopped by to introduce the film. He spent most of the time thanking us for coming to this screening and seeing Wolverine the way it should be seen, in theaters, and talked about how many difference there were between the final cut and the early leaked version. He then mentioned that Marvel has a tradition of hiding easter eggs in their films, and it's no exception for Wolverine. They've hidden multiple secret endings on different prints and theaters will be showing different versions.

Fox is a bit desperate to try and get people in theaters on May 1st for the opening and this definitely seems like a very unique decision to try and bring people in. While we've seen plenty of easter egg endings, like in Iron Man last year, we haven't seen multiple endings like this in a long time. Hood didn't say how many different endings there would be. As for the other differences between the leaked version and the final cut, Hood explained that there were 400 unfinished visual effects shots and that there was no score, unfinished sound mixing, and unfinished coloring. However, he didn't mention anything about differences in footage.

I will say, quickly, that I enjoyed Wolverine and wouldn't call it great, but liked it a lot more than I was expecting. I think my expectations had been brought down considerably because of all the negative buzz from the leak. However, seeing a finished and polished version was what made all the difference (I never saw the leaked version anyway). As for the secret ending we saw tonight, I'll only say that it featured Deadpool, but I won't say anything more, as I don't want to spoil the ending. We'll let you know when we hear any more about the secret endings in Wolverine, including how many there are and what they are.

VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY interesting.

EDIT 2:
The final clip you saw was dictated by which theater you saw it in. Surely they'll all show up on the DVD eventually,
Also as I just learned from THIS site (there are 2 pages) http://movies.ign.com/articles/979/979891p1.html that the bar is in Japan and set him up for how he ends up in Japan and falls in love (for you comic fans).

from the looks of things there are just 2 endings. I think the deadpool one would have looked better honestly =(

I'mjoining this conversation. I just recently got the first two X-Men mvies of Netflix and liked them a lot. I just want to ask about Wolverine. The movie. Does it have a lot of screaming in it? I mean like utter insantety? Did you just say DeadPool is in this? He is so crazy. Actually I don't know much about him, but enough. thanks to Marvel Ultimate Alliance.

What do you mean by screaming? This movie has it's fair share of war cries and evil laughter but nothing insane.

A bit off topic, but I read the other day Deadpool's getting his own spinoff movie now. Be nice to see a Deadpool movie imo, instead of the freak they mutated him into.
