. PLEASE this little "war"
I don't think you guys are being very cool about this. I mean most Yu-Gi-oH players I just hate and this made me happy at first. But as a former player of the Duel Masters Card Game I know how it feels for all the money that yo invested in a card game to basically be flushed down the toilet. I mean really it feels just weird, Yu-Gi-oh crashing just like that, I predicted this a year ago but it doesn't seem real.
What's left us Poke-players and MTG-players now. Is this the first sign of the biblical apocalypse. What happens now?
I wouldn't go THAT far, there's still Pokemon and M:TG and there's bound to be a new TCG(s) down the road when the time comes. I know how you feel but Yu-Gi-Oh! was a doomed game from the start with severely flawed game mechanics and no resource system at all. It hasn't been worth it for 5 years...
I never actually had joy in playing Yugioh, since I was never able to win tourneys (trust me, I had all the staples besides Tree Born Frog >.>).
But with Pokemon, I get joy from playing, the people are nice (except my league leader who is very mean and rude to me since I'm still "new" to the game) and it's not as expensive and has a lot more strategy then Yugioh and don't tell me Yugioh has more strategy, I've played Yugioh since Metal raiders until Force Of The Breaker.
I never said there was anything wrong with likeing both games I am just curious as to which game has the largest plaer base, I know Pokemon has outsold Yugioh for the last 3 or 4 years.
Now that 463,450 number is that players who have particpated all time or just this year. that would make a juge differance. Are there any numbers for how many players in the US have particapted in a Yugioh Premeir event (not a local tournement at a store but something on the level of a Battle Road or City CHampionship) THoes are the number I would like to compare together.)
Or "guerrilla" (little war) had to say it!
Yes I am sad to see Yugioh being "canceled" but if this means that we will have better organized play for Yugioh and perhaps a better ban list I may play again as long as they make Chimeratech more playable, such as 2-3 Cyber Dragons in your deck and 2-3 Overload Fusion and Future Fusion.
I also left Yugioh fbecause my area has a lot of very mean spirited players not to mention cheating and they HAVE stole my favorite deck that I modified for years even though it was a ban deck it still had a lot of sentimental value to me.

And the reason that i noticed that who ever had more money to spend on Yugioh wins, this may not always be true but usually this is the case.

Anyone who thinks yugioh is dead is retarded and seriously needs to do some investigation before they make such asinine statements. There are more yugioh players in the us pokemon players , I mean just go to you local yugioh tournment and compare it to the local pokemon league. Also pokemon hasn't come close to out selling yugioh mostly because pokemon has no real secondary market.
Here are the facts:Konami has taken over distribution and op for yugioh in north American. Konami is doing the sneak peaks and will be announcing their plans for op in the fallowing weeks and are expected to keep the same op as udes as far as regionals and sjc but they also seem to wanna focus on local hobby shops too.Konami has announced the new march first ban list which will bring a more varied and enjoyable march-September format. Seriously yugioh just got a whole lot better than pokemon.
Ok I can see Cyber Dragon going back to 2. It hit one becuase of easy Synchro summonings but it still is a 2 for 1 trade. The only way Overload would go up is if Future Fusion was banned or vice versa. Chimeratech was broken as it was and yu-gi-oh tries to get away from the OTK's. But as it is its just an alternatie win condition.
Im sorry but like everything you just said is rong, pokemon has more players and sells more then yugioh, pokemon is the secound most played TCG in the world so maybe there are more players in usa then pokemon but pokemon is played in like so many countrys even if they dont have op, you also are looking at what they said before they cancled play in north america so who knows what they are thinking now and most of all it has not gotten better them pokemon because for the last few years pokemon has been better then yugioh.
P.S with this ban I really think alot of yugioh players will join pokemon or magic so yugioh is dead for now.
PP.S well most people here think yugioh is dead or dying so calling all the people here retarted isn't a good way to make friends
Not everything he said is wrong. Konami is taking over YGO, So it's not dead. Also, Pokemon doesn't have more players than YGO. Pokemon is the third biggest TCG, and there's nothing wrong with that. YGO is printed in quite a few languages, and also has quite a world presence from my understanding.
YGO is good competition for Pokemon. It keeps our cards at reasonable prices and the game balanced and fun.

I've heard (mind you, I have no idea of the truthfullness of this statement) that UD was told to empty their warehouses of stock. They plan on doing so, but for now they don't seem to be giving any great deals just yet. However if they do dump the product, expect collectors to be a bit upset when the price of cards on the secondary market tank. Sounds like a bit of history repeating itself .... (WOTC and pokemon type history to be exact.)
