Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Yu-Gi-Oh! Organized Play Canceled in North America

Seriously all this argueing about which game is better is getting annoying. Since each side says there is proof but nobody shows any. Yu-gi-oh is not dead. There is finally a good ban list (I would have prefered Judgment at 1 and Charge at 2 to keep the deck balanced and cheaper but oh well). Konomi has already released new packs with CP08 and Crms Chaos comming shortly. Speaking of that the Crms Chaos sneaks were this weekend and from what I heard great events. Konomi will be releasing there OP program in a few weeks. The yu-gi-oh secondary market is holding study even without OP currently.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

GS2 will hit the U.S. in July but over seas in April? Which in turn will hit ebay in Apirl (which yes we can use). Nobody really denies that Gold Sarc. was put at 2 to help sell GS2. While the card is good I don't consider broke since there is a 2 turn delay.

i <3 this new ban list. It forces more control gyzrus rather then just DERPERP BLOWUP.
And you are right Judgement at 2 with charge at 3 still allows the LS to be potentially dominant.

Stop flaming yugioh for YOUR reasons. Seems unethical to all of you saying SotG. I mean really?

Wizards of the Coast today announced that invitations to the Magic: The Gathering Nationals tournament will be extended to qualified Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game players in response to the recent announcement that their National Championships are canceled.
are you serious? in the effort to 'reach out' to UD's ex customers, you're going to alienate your OWN loyal customers who didn't get invites to their nats? ORLY?

i'm talking about the players who MISSED the cut for their nats: how do they feel being on the 'bubble' and missing out and then seeing players from *another game* who may never have played this one getting auto invites?

compare it to OP handing out invites to worlds (since that's our only invite-only tourney) to YGO players. how would you feel as #26 in north america seeing additional seats going to another game's players?

I believe this is called the "empty invite" as I doubt that any of the Yugi-oh players are also Magic players.

You are more likely to have Pokemon/Magic the Gathering players than people who cross between these 2 games.

Think about this. For those YGO players to play competitively at MTG Nationals, they will have to buy a lot of MTG product quickly. I feel this was a money-making move.

Well back in December of '08 KDE (Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc.) had released this:

So technically Upper Deck at the time of it's announcement did have any control over the game. It had no distribution of the cards nor did it have anything to do with the card game.

Lol, #1 my butt. YGO was never #1 I think...

But still, iirc, UDE still had a contract through at least 09 to distribute YGO, so really, Konami is giving them more of a reason for breach of contract or something I think. Like I keep saying, Konami is definitely going about retaking its product badly...

Also, lol @ MTG inviting YGO Nats players. I agree, if I were a MTG, I'd be ticked they're offering YGO players to compete at Nats.

I would be angry, but I don't see as much of a problem between this and the Pokemon example. Magic and Yugioh don't hate each other as much as Pokemon and Yugioh do.

that is the same thing i've heard.

konami had no choice other than to take their game back, no matter how 'messy' the transition for the players: how could they continue to leave the game in UD's hands after stating in legal documents that UD has been counterfeiting their product and therefore cheating them of revenue?

So far alot of yu-gi-oh players are becoming more hopeful of Konomi. The sneak peeks were met with so-so results (reguarding number of locations and availablity) However the set was a huge success, with the raritys not being ridiculous. Konomi also announced CP08 with Super Lumina and Rare Necro Gardna's and common Royal Oppressions which was met with alot of support of players. They also released info on Gold Series 2 including common PWWB and Solmn Judgment. They also released a survey on there sight trying to find out what the yu-gi-oh community is looking for pertaining to Sets, OP, and Rareitys. Hopefully they will release there OP plan soon. Besides not hearing about an OP plan yet they have made alot of smart business moves and mood of players is optimistic.

no yugioh player would play in the MTG nationals.
or if they did they would get disqualified/ and or get totally ran over. xD
The two games are so different and the judging style in both game are so different.

There's been many cheating instances in YGO it's sad, I would like to see a YGO player TRY to cheat in MTG XDDD

And thank God they did.

As soon as Konami took control, we started getting old cards from the OCG that we had never before received. We finally got Multiply, for Leroy Jenkins' sake, a card we should have had a long time ago that makes the otherwise-nearly-useless Kuriboh worth playing again.
