Too many energy and pokemon. Put in MORE trainers. an avarage of 20-20-20 is best for starters.

If you get some experience playing the game you come to realize that having access to lots of pokemon doesn't make your deck very strong. You need to use more trainers to control the field, and choose a line of under 25 pokemon that work very well together.

Try to use 20 or fewer energies, and fill the rest in with trainers that enhance your overall strategy. If you want, buy a theme deck featuring water/electric/psychic pokemon and see how those are made (not great, but they're okay). Play your decks against eachother and think about what could make it better in a certain situation.

A strategy might be defensive or offensive, energy denial, or fast set-up and kills, status infliction, spreading damage, 'sniping' enemy threats before they become too strong, using moves or poke-powers to power up your side extra-fast, or a combination of these.
