Seriously guys?Yamnega is a definite NO and Kingdra Prime is too slow for it's own good, we aren't tryin to pick a perfvt tech(as there is non for this dek) we are tryin to pick the greater of bads, and by that logic Lanturn
prime is the answer.

I did not even come close to mentioning Yanmega was good as a Donphan counter. Calm down.

Also, Kingdra prime? Wow, lets toss in a stage 2 as an unnecessary tech in an entirely basic oriented deck. You guys are geniuses. Bravo.

reshiram has emboar which is a stage 2. No consistency problems for it. I can't see why Zekrom can't run kingdra. It takes care of both my problems, reshiram and donphan, and is also useful against mirror and other decks.

So now you have 2 more bench spots filled. I am now down 2 donphan. I dont need a huge combo to respond yet another KO. How many times do you think you can pull that combo off in a game?

I know I can get 4-6 donphans attacking in 1 game without much effort.

Jimmy

Although I agree with you that Lanturn is not the right tech; getting out 4-6 Donphans is pushing it even in this format. Good luck with that hgss on

Could you whine more about what to tech into this deck?!?

After playing it at League Saturday and Sunday, I found myself DESPERATELY needing to hit for an extra 10 against multiple decks. It's a little ridiculous the number of times I found myself needing to hit something just a little bit harder. I was planning on redoing the deck to put PlusPower into it, but Kingdra is just such a more interesting and useful change. I never really got Yanmega out unless it was end game and I was completely out of resources. 70 Damage or Snipe for 40 just isn't that useful when you can hit their active for 120.

So using a Pokemon that hits for 40 on a Reshiram is interesting, then gets possibly OHKOd the next turn?
Wow, I must redefine my idea of interesting.

here is an idea, instead of putting 6 pokemon and 2 energy witch you will never run across in your deck, drop in ruins of alph let a donphan hit a zekrom with EQ and outrage kill it, the next one will kill you then you repeat, this way you are not setting your self up to fail against every other deck and can make the donphan match more even.

Donphan uses pluss power. You're not going to get outrage kills on anything, since they'll just one shot you. It's also not like it's REALLY hard for them to get 3 energy on a benched phan to further ruin your day. Oh, BTW, even with RoA, he still reduces your attacks by 20 with his body. Have fun with that! :D

You obviously havnt tested against donphan, they run few fighting energy unless they are running machamp aswell, and if with yanmega even less, so yes 3 energy on a benched donphan with 1 on the active is kind of hard within the first few turns (which is what we are talking about as Zekrom is a speed deck). Then you are assuming a plus power, also if my 1st grade math is still good 60x2= 120. then 120+20=140(outrage) with ruins of alph being in play 140-20(exoskeleton) = KO. Sure you will get KOd in return most likely but you should be able to set up another Zekrom. This just seems more reasonable than a 2-2-2 Kingdra line with 2 water energy. So you are dedicating 8 cards to a tech for a single match up, which you may win nearly half the time regardless within the first few turns. Donphan typically runs few basics 8 in most cases, chances are they will not start 2 anyways.

I agree but this deck is meant to be faster than donphan, so you will have a phanpy KOd 1st turn, then they would have to have a PP by t2 in order to start this, otherwise they will be on their heels all game, so maybe they take a Zekrom with a PP but you still have the upper hand.

Yanmega is SOO GOOD!!!! So is Plus Power + Junk Arm. -2-2-2 Kingdra. +4 Plus Power +1 Jarm +1 whatever else.

How on earth is a basic that needs 3 energy and a bunch of stuff to get that 3 energy faster than a stage 1 that needs 1 energy? Zekrom miiiight be faster IF it gets its set up, but overall Donphan will be quicker more consistently.

What a deck. Good job weavile#1 and IMO the BDIF for the next format. Beware everyone coz the HAYMAKER has returned!

Thanks, this deck will be HUGE!

Exactly, 10 damage is especially good because a lot of pokemon nowadays(reshiram HGSS-on) will have 130 HP, 10 short.

So using a Pokemon that hits for 40 on a Reshiram is interesting, then gets possibly OHKOd the next turn?
Wow, I must redefine my idea of interesting.

I use kingdra's power to put a damage counter on reshiram and then KO it with Zekrom. It is interesting.

8 tech spaces in this deck is crucial for reshiram and donphan, which will be the top decks HGSS-on. I can search out pokemon with dual ball, collector, communication, and junipers. The energy, if against donphan or whenever needed, will be searched out with energy search.

Yanmega is SOO GOOD!!!! So is Plus Power + Junk Arm. -2-2-2 Kingdra. +4 Plus Power +1 Jarm +1 whatever else.

When I build the deck I will definitely test both but right now and on paper, I feel that kingdra is better. Pluspower does help in mirror and reshiram but not against donphan. I would like another junk arm however :)

go for plus powers so you dont have random dead draws of kingdra or seadra when looking for T/S :3

If I'm against a deck where i don't need kingdra, I'll just use junk arm and junipers to discard. I think it will be useful at some point in every game however. It is also a good late game attacker.

Ok... ignore everything the good players have told you. Have a nice time at the bottom tables, along with everyone else who decided the were too good to listen or something. :)

Wow, I must redefine my idea of interesting.

you don't need kingdra to be attacking the reshiram as your zekrom OHKOs it with a Kingdra Spray Splash.

While this deck may be fast, and hits hard the auto damage isn't really useful.

After T2 when you have your first Zekrom out, how do you power up the second one? If you keep doing 120 and self hitting for 40 your just making it easier for your opponent to come back on you, especially with twins in the format. Don't get me wrong, I think it'll be a good Tier 2 maybe even a lower Tier 1 deck. But by no means is it the BDIF.
