the new hurricane is going to be easy to access or come up with on your own, so i would expect to see it do well if enough people play it

Congrads, now you need 3 cards, all of which you are going to need in order for any to work, to take down a Wailord. $ actually, since without a Pluspower Electrode won't take him down. Don't even say Scramble, if you are losing to the point where Scramble is working, a Trode won't help you at all. these cards in total have a 4/10, or 40% chance, of bieng prized. That means you will only get any amount of help 60% of the time.

Bad idea.

Electrode OHKO's Wailord...Whats 100 x 2?

i don't think anyone should be concerned enough about wailord to put an electrode in their deck but as i've said it's easily techable in some decks, gallade is one, you don't have to worry what's in your prizes since you get to flip them over

it's just an idea and it works

^Bingo. If you add in one lightning (adding more just makes me laugh at you, and adding multi makes me fall on the floor laughing), thats 5 cards you need. 5. LOL.

Oh my. I don't think anyone invented Magmortar, since it's such an utterly obvious combo.

Give me 5 good reasons why the "mario isn't a deck" article helped the community, and let them not all be, "it showed that mario wasn't a competitive choice". That's one reason there, now give me 4 more. You won't be able to find 4 more good reasons why the article helped the community, because it didn't help the community in any way. NOBODY gained from that article and the article was made just to tear apart another deck, even if the creators don't want to admit it.

I would never say the people that posted the article were bad players, as I have met a few of them, but the article wasn't anything more than a cleaned up political attack ad on a popular deck.

Oh yes, that's exactly it. I'm sorry if I'm coming off a little harsh, but I don't understand why some people assume it was written as an attack. People wanted reasons other than "Mario isn't a deck" and they were provided.

1) It showed that Mario was not a competitive choice in its current state. The entire point of that point (lol) was explaining that its inconsistencies were the reason for its lack of competitiveness.

2) It DID suggest alternatives, whether people knew about them or not. I don't even think Empoleon was in there because neither Kant nor I thought it was very impressive. The fact is, I don't believe at that point in time there were many other competitive options for Lucario. Why would we list ideas that we felt didn't even work as well as the original?

3) It DID suggest a way to improve Mario. The way, of course, was to improve consistency through a stronger draw engine and try to obtain Rare Candy to set up Machamp in a more efficient fashion. Mario honestly wasn't that bad when it could do all that.

4) I'm not sure how much this "helped the community" but it certainly left room for players to use their own creative minds. We outlined what we thought were flaws in the deck's concept (the mixing of speed and set up) and structure (the trainers) and with that knowledge, we felt that people should have had a good idea of where to start with testing new combos or improving the deck.

I just kind of take offense to the "political attack ad" comment because if we were bashing, we could have continued spamming "Mario isn't a deck." I put the same honest effort into that article as I do on every article I post on my website and I'm sure Kant does the same when he writes for his.

And I mean no offense to you, Matt, because I'm impressed by your ability to stand up for yourself. I just want to explain this.

ANYWAYS, now that we're horridly off topic...

Are we arguing about Wailord here? Personally, unless you can find a way to attach more than one energy, I'm not buyin' it. Gallade can work on the first Wailord and catch the second one before it gets powered up. Feraligatr, though I'll admit it would be a pain, can OHKO a Wailord, too. I mean, I want a big 200 HP whale to work as much as the next guy, but I don't see it.

Really a deck isnt who invented, its just who has the most constitant list and who has won it who usually gets the credit.

Magmortar-Gallade-Blissey are the top contenders going into states, but something may spring up since starters are better with the release.

Also what happened to Empoleon,I mean it seemed like it would be a threat, but I dont see it all or it bein really since Magmortar, what up wit that??

Empoleon is outshined by so many other cards. It loses to blissey and gallade and thats enough to make it not good.

I tried making empoleon with gardy/gallade it didn't have the consistency of standard G&G but I think it works conceptually and I haven't given up on it yet

But thats how alot of things you play seem to go,u base it off the standard of what it can beat and what can beat it.

ex.Banette: Beat Blissey and Gallade(Either Starter)Loses to Magmortar

I mean if you play the deck well, thats all that matters or should matter. If u play test enough you can learn to beat te deck either way
