yeah thats like... 3 cards off from the list i used.

i've been using almost the exact list for 2 weeks
but when i saw your list I did make a few changes to mine to see how they went (Castaway/Strength Charm instead of PP, 1-1 Claydol instead of 2-2) and it worked just as well

Why 3 Psychic over 3 Fighting (For Claydol)

idk, I was using WPs awhile back, and I guess when I took them out I forgot to change it, I guess I should do that

prime example of a deck article that should be moved to the Archetype section.

i think imma have to try this deck out.
MadHatter has never steered me wrong before! so i can only assume he wont start now!
it does look like a really fun deck.
and i agree about it not being a "Donk Deck".
it, much like Infernape decks, can donk an opponent more often than other decks, but altogether its not.

Against Plox the matchup is more of 55/45 in Plox's favor. I still don't like this deck, but I will admit that it's not easy to beat if they get the right flips...

Oh a quick FYI, I never said its a bad deck, I just think its stupid.

No I agree with Hatter that it is 55-45 in Skittles' favor, or perhaps even better. I have yet to lose a game to GG/Plox with a decent start. And that includes only one donk in which Ho-Oh didn't even attack. And coin flips...GG can win or lose games on TSD flips, so don't get started about coin flips.

And quick FYI for those that read the article: I wrote the single card/strategy section, and Hatter and Mamba wrote the lists and matchups.

Nice article guys. In my own experience, Banette actually has not been that hard to deal with. Magmortar has been the biggest problem for me, mainly being that Mag can endure longer and build up and hit higher than I can with Ho-Oh. Most of the time, when I lose to Magmortar its because he can build up to fast.

In all my testing, ANY Gardy deck (including Plox) was usually a pretty good matchup, at least with the Furret version. I could see it giving Claydol problems, but meh.

i played a list similar to this one and i went 2-3 in my local tourny :( the things i lost to was PLOX, empoleon ( i forgot my windstorms), and Arithmetic it was 1-1 prizes and he top decked his water NRg for his Garydos

^...meh. If they risk PLOXing you while you're winning, they're risking getting their Gardy 1-2 shotted by anything that's set up. It hurts the Claydol version a bit, but if you're winning I don't see PLOX being a problem. When you're not set up though, I completely agree.

Psychic Lock does a fairly small amount of damage, eventually they'll want to use Bring Down. As soon as they do, you can go crazy setting up.

Any good GG DOESN'T use TSD.

There is a card called Gallade that takes care of this little problem.

There's a simple tech for Plox that lets you use Bring Down with out letting you go crazy setting up.

Your statements won't be holding any water unless you can provide a more detailed explanation instead of just telling there is "something" that does "something".

Cessation Crystal. PLOX uses it to free up other attacks and attackers like Gallade without breaking the "power lock" ... yeah windstorm, patchi, warp-point, or whatever as a counter but you have to have those in hand or be willing to loose a prize to get rid of a cess when they can just start attacking with Garde again next turn. Even if they get one free bring down or sonic blade under Cess it can be game altering.

IMHO the biggest counter to PLOX is early speed ... put the pressure on THEM to respond ... and then make sure that you have plenty of counters in your deck. It's nice if you keep it in hand but odds are reasonable that they will try to wager you before playing the cess.
