I JUST CALLED THE STORE, STORE SAYS THERE IS STILL ROOM IN FLIGHT 2
The numbers they game me were
Flight 1: full with about 8 on the waitlist; 5 for TDC
Flight 2: 30; 1 for TDC
As totoro said, if both flights do fill up, you definitely want to get onto the waitlist. You have a good chance--but not guarenteed--of getting into either flight if on the waitlist because of "no-shows." This is especially true for flight 2 because it currently does not yet have a waitlist started.
Also, upon registration, people may switch from the main event to TDC, which then opens up a slot in the main event, especially since there's not a lot of TDCers currently registered. 12 slots are reserved for TDCers during preregistration. However, if those spots do not fill up, then they become main event spots if that is where they are needed. That's another reason why you want to get onto the waitlist if possible.
So, if main event + TDC < 50, then there is still physical room in the flight  .
I don't know why whoever said it was full said so. The guy I talked to was able to tell me the number from memory when he registered two people earlier in the day. Rogue Archetype, the store did confirm that you were signed up for flight 2 but said that there was only 30 people signed up, which means there is more space. Although I think the guy I spoke with was one of the weekday-morningers, he sounded like he knew his way around the prereg list. I was going to go by the store later today, so I can confirm the numbers physically written down at that time.
Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:
This is an EDIT if the two posts get merged.
I just got back from Hobby Works. The store manager said that practically 20 people called today.
Flight 1's main event and waitlist are filled. It does have 7 spaces left in its TDC.
Flight 2's main event has 2 spaces open and its waitlist is still empty. It has 1 person signed up for its TDC.
If the TDC does not fill up, those spaces will be changed to accomidate main event players.
