Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

You play Pokémon? Pfffttt...

Nobody seems to care at my school. Alot of them think it's kinda cool.
I've never been teased about it, but if someone were to, I'd just laugh with them.

Call them hypocrites. Most of the same people that'll call you nerds for playing pokemon are the ones logging onto WoW 3 times a week and play Fantasy football as if theres nothing wrong with it.

I've known people that played shoots and ladders and candyland with friends and STILL try yo make fun of me b/c pokemons a "children's game". Spare me...

Pokemon is a retro fad right now, so I don't even see why people in High School/Jr. High even have room to talk about it anymore. I see guys and girls over the age of 20 with Pokemon shirts/hoodies/such and such on campus nowadays and have absolutely no problems with people. Its peer pressure. ignore it.

I suppose its the bane of immaturity. Teenage people like to have things to go after. If you let them go after you with it, then you've lost the battle. Ignore them and express yourself.

I'm in high school and play pokemon, i tell people, they think i am joking so they never make fun of me.

edit: it is a way to enjoy your free time, they may have basketball which may be deemed "cool" but it is the same kind of thing. You enjoy it, never let anyone ever tell you not to do what you enjoy doing. Unless it is like suicide bombing or making people into beef jerky. Please, dont do that.

As this is not News, moving to RTC for more discussion.

PS: I am 36 and still play Pokemanz.

Show them how much fun it is and thell them that they can enter tournaments for free and get free prizes. If they don't go for that then they're pretty lame.

As long as they don't touch you, you should be fine. If they do touch you, then you better beat the snot out of them!! I don't want to hear about my team members being weak, getting picked on, or beat up ya hear me!! Stand up for yourself and be proud that you play Pokemon!!

Amphy#1 out.

I've seen you make several posts about physical violence.

You need to calm down.

Lol last year some people found out I played and I still here one or two people saying "Pikachu I choose you!" from across the room and i know it's directed at me. Just ignore it or get a group of people who play who can back you up to tell others it's cool.

Funny. I played at least half a dozen random people in pickup games on my college campus yesterday, and there was some surprising interest.

^ Good advice. If you want to be suspended.

I can tell you 1 thing. They won't mess with him after that will they? I say it's worth it. Plus, they would have to hit him first, so he would only be defending himself.

First, they will be in trouble for starting a fight. then, secondly they will be imbarrased for getting beat by a Pokemon player!!

I really want to see him just tear into them don't you? This is so funny, I could pee my pants right now.

my friend always tell our friends that he wants to be known as the person that payed for some of his college by playing childrens trading card. then he laughs and so does everyone else. either that or they have a surprised look on there face =O saying "how much do they pay?"

i think this is a big topic that should be permanant kids all over the world are scared to come out and say they play pokemon especially teen's like myself in high school its not exactly cool anymore but i still continue to play and so do thousands around the world but it's not easy being able to say you play pokemon

What? All I'm saying is that if fre prizes, money, and trips don't perswade them and if they touch him he has the right to do whatever he wants to them. Other than that he can just hang with his click I guess.

I'm in college, and proudly declared today in front of everyone I played Pokemon TCG. It was a stupid role question, "Guilty Pleasure", i.e. what you get a kick out of that most people would find embarassing. I'm a huge anime/gamer nerd, and Pokemon TCG was the nerdiest thing I could come up with. I think a lot of ppl think not only is it a kid's game, that it's old because Pokemon was like a pop culture phenomenon back in the late 90's... now it's calmed way down.

And yeah, I got a lot of lulz.... and that coming from ppl who admitted they loved the "high school musical" movies... But when I told them how much money was in it, everyone shut up pretty quick. In the same class I also admitted that I go to Anime conventions to sell anime artwork and yes... that I cosplay. Then on lunch sum azn guy started talking to me about his collection of 1st edition cards XD

I LOVE being a geek... XD

To all you getting hated on in high school - Aah... wait for college. There it's cool to be nerdy, pretty much (depending on the school). College crowd is where anime fandom grew up here in the US.

lol wow now I don't feel so bad, I'm like 10 years younger than you. But I'll still play at your age I'm sure :D lol pokemanz... why does everyone say that? it sounds funneh

I am a strong believer in the right to self defense, but what I'm saying is that you have made several posts about physical harm. And now what's worse is that you think it's funny.

That worries me. I don't want to derail this thread, though, so I'm going to leave it at that.

yeah, I was made fun of for playing Pokemon card game. But, my argument to those people was " My son( at the time he was 10 yrs old) and I have something to do together, so, when you do something in common with your children, is it ok that I poke fun at you?" I also am a fan of RPGs, and I enjoy the complex "rock, paper, scissors" aspect of Pokemon vid games. I have been playing the vid games since RED and BLUE- and the thrill that I get of a good battle and winning is pure fun. ( even if I lose, I at least learn other strategies from my opponent) do not let people discourage your definition of what you find to be "an enjoyable pass time" and ignore them.
