Sleeves.

I would put garchomp in the even worse section. I used it once for playtesting, and ripped one on my first shuffle. Im not that rough.

My Girlfriend's UL sleeves ripped on her third PR game, those were the worst I have had. The Garchomp ones were about that bad too, I'd say those two were the worst. The HGSS PR sleeves though have lasted me a while.

I must just take pretty good care of my sleeves, cause no sleeves that I have are noticably unusuable.
Of course I do keep my decks in deck boxes (most of which are the steel "Rook" kind). The other 2
(out of 6) are in the Articuno/Zapdos/Moltres Pokemon deck boxes.

The Arceus sleeves are nice imo. I've actually used the UD sleeves in a few events without any rips, maybe I'm lucky.
The HGSS sleeves just suck. The Garchomp SV sleeves held up well for Regs. Any of the MT-MD ones are junky, some of my Darkrai sleeves I use for testing the back completely ripped off. The Giratina and RR ones have held up for me ok and so have the LA, and I havn't played long enough to have Lucario sleeves. That's my Prerelease sleeve experience.

The UD sleeves are incredibly strong. I thought they were the best PR sleeves of all time. Corners split easily though. Good for league.

The new sleeves are 1 word.. GARBAGE. I haven't even opened mine and I see bubbles on the top of the freaking sleeve. Maybe TPCI should go back to Ultra pro and have them make them instead of making Epic Fail sleeves. All I've heard is how Horrible the HG/SS era sleeves are. Hopefully someone up top realizes this and does something about it.

While the past few sets of sleeves have been subpar, it's important to remember that you're essentially getting them for free. You're paying $25 for 8 packs ($26 - $30 retail), a promo ($5.00), and sleeves ($5.00). That doesn't mean you shouldn't express your unhappiness with the product, but it's important to put it into perspective.

While we're on the topic of sleeves, a few people at my pre-release yesterday found the Celebi ones to be cut at slightly different sizes. Even ones from the same pack. Because of this I made an announcment to the players to look at them carefully before using them at higher tournements (I made it ok for the pre-release though). So if you're going to be using the new Celebi sleeves in tournaments then double check to make sure they're all the same size otherwise you'll probably receive a penalty for marked cards.

My players had no problems with the Celebi sleeves thus far. Even though this is just a single prerelease day, that's somewhat encouraging.

BTW, NEVER use the Ultra Pros again. Not unless they're manufactured like the Oracle sleeves from DP. All of the other UP sleeves for the Prereleases have been garbage.

Excellent

Lucario (DP) (easily the best)

Very Good

Rotom (RR)

Good

Regigigas (LA)
Dusknoir (SF)

Just about usable

Giratina (PL) (some people rate them, but I find the corners get manky really fast)
Arceus (AR)
Garchomp (SV) (only just)

Bad - would NEVER use in a tourney

Legendary Dogs (UL)
Eeveelutions (UD)

Even Worse - wouldn't even use for playtesting

Eeveelutions (MD)
Darkrai (GE)
Weavile (SW)
Electivire (MT)

So horrible, it's disturbing

Lugia/Ho-Oh (HGSS) - the backs start to peel after one shuffle

The Legendary dog sleeves peel just like the ho-oh ones, they are terrible and I just threw them in the garbage... HORRIBLE!

what place could i get some lucario sleeves?

They are tough to get these days as they were released over three years ago and anyone who still has sealed ones probably wants to hold on to them. (I know I do).

You could try eBay or posting in the buyers forum here, but don't expect a big response and definitely don't expect to get them cheap.

dang, what about the other GOOD ones?

The other GOOD ones (Rotom, Gigas, Dusknoir) are going to cost you AT LEAST $10-15 (if you are lucky) and as even those are +2 years old, they are still not easy to get.

If you just want good sleeves, it's cheaper/easier to buy non-Pokemon ones.

I agree. I had the honor of watching someone at League play with these sleeves for two months without changing them. And let me tell you, it was not pretty.

Amen to that one lol; went to a States and aftr 1 shuffle a sleeve peels top right corner :p

I am an incredibly gentle shuffler (I've had comments on it) and even I have had the HGSS and UL sleeves split on me after a few shuffles.
