LostGar makes P!P stupid.

what about a dck full of Diagla and Dark Pokemon, that is my plan.

What are you going to do against luxchomp? Dialgachomp competes with it because of the chomp half of the deck (along with draggy, ambipom, promocroak too)

Lostgar is far from the BDIF... imo Dialga will be BDIF as it effectively counters Lostgar. I don't see how you are going to stop them from using Skuntank + belt +deafen and denying you your lost world. That's a far better counter than a "counter deck" full of dark Pokémon.

You want a deck that dominated its format? Plox puts Lostgar to shame.

Deafen is really just a stall tatctic.
The only way I could see that working is if you take a prize and stall for the rest of the game, but don't act like gengar only has 1 attack.

I just built a dialgachomp modified for lostgar along with a consistent-as-possible lostgar. I played my brother and was 4-0 with dialgachomp. Have you guys tested the matchup? I don't understand all the hype

So I'm locking a Snowpoint into play, I play Garchomp X and obviously 4 Poké Turn. I also play belts.

You think Cursed Drop is gonna take your prizes for you?

^ Keep in mind that each poke turn's effect is basically doubled because of galactic switch + warp energy.

Cursed drop can get the uxies you play on the bench, so while you keep doing 30 damage to me a turn (this is assuming you attach e-belt) i'll be sniping around you field.

I shouldn't have an Uxie, weren't you Seekering my field early game in an attempt to Hurl 6 Pokémon? If not, you probably don't have 6 in my lost zone so I can restore if I need to. Since you need to Lost Zone cards in order to force me to Deafen instead of using other attacks, I highly doubt I'll have an Uxie on the bench. You 3HKO Uxie with Snowpoint in play anyways, while I do 40 with Deafen + skuntank (and this is assuming you have another Gengar to which to retreat...)

You want to play theorymon all day, don't you?

Well, we can redshark if that makes you happy? PM me if you want to play.

I'm convinced Dialga can safely beat Lostgar; almost as convinced as I am that Lostgar will be nowhere near the BDIF.

Yeah a standart gengar list, want some fries with that?

The issue is that your deafen lock answer is an extreme measure and this makes it extremly FRAIL. I havent tested it yet so Im not going "my list is so good hur hur this will never beat me" but everyone playing lostagr is aware of a) weavile/absol and b) deafen lock and would be a complete idiot to not prepare for that. And since gengars has a lot of ways to pull its strategy off and crazy consistency with twins it CAN prepare. Mew/Machamp takes care of Dialga, period, and for weavile, azelf/exploud/mewspam/idk. Like I said, Ive never tested it but all of those counters are so easily stupid to see that no one will play lostgar unprepared for them. The question is, can lostgar do something to block those coutners effectivly or not? And a deck with mass twins/uxies and a rather easy setup should be able to play quite some counters.

and gengar x shutting all of all dialgas and all...

"But I can spray it"

And how long will you spray level down while deafen rushing me to death?

Considering you first have to bring up the Mew to lost zone Champ, I don't think I'll need too many Sprays... 1 per mew...

Plus in order for me to be Deafen locking you, you must have already lost zoned at least 5 Pokémon, so I don't think Mew can act quickly enough in the face of Power Spray.

I wont be sending up mews for you to beat up until your x is gone and I have 5/6 pokemon lost zoned. Or do you plan on deafen locking all game? Im talking about mew to break the deafen lock once I have 6 pokemon lost zoned. Because if you deafen lock before I get there youre doing something wrong.

That's what I'm saying, you can't send up Mew till I have 5-6 Pokémon in the Lost Zone. And sure, level me down, but you still have to Lost Zone the Champ before you can start killing me so I can just level back up and deafen for 40. There goes a Mew, with two Crobats Mew is dead before you can attack with it.

I can send up mew all day If I want, but why WOULD I? I lost zone the champ, you kill a mew, so now Im going to level down every turn without sending up mews, heck If I find it nessesary I can play some lightning pkmn with resistance (was going to say pachirisu but that doesnt work xD), you have no choice but to deafen on all day. 2 Crobats eats your turns as well, I can use something like Resque Energy to get back my mews.

The thing is, you cant deafen lock forever if your opponent has a counter for it. Because you need to deafen all day. Thats why its a fragile counter. A hard counter for the unprepared but a fragile anyway. Sure there is a lot of back and forth but if I sac one mew to get one champ zoned, what will you do? I wont be dumb enough to feed you prices, heck at that point I can use gengars as meatshields. And you have no choice but to deafen on. Forever and ever. What will happen earlier? Me running out of resources or you running out of sprays / ways of getting dialgas/dialga x back if I ko it?

@yoshi: In earlier threads I did discuss the option of deafening from (hopefully) turn 1 until after the + 3. But I've played 6 games in the matchup and I only used that strategy once. For the record, it worked quite well actually (we time our games while testing to make it a more realistic environment). With added sp radars and junk arms, it is easy to empty my hand of pokemon every single turn.

Your argument for level down is valid...if I level up. Generally, I leave the x in my deck and my radars in my hand as long as I can.

@yoshi: neither, we'll run out of time. Honestly speaking, a Dialga player playing at a reasonable, non-stalling pace can drag a game like that to time.

again @yoshi: I only have to deafen when you get all 6 in the lost zone. With the list I've been using, that takes a long long time, if at all.

Btw, my strategy only requires a basic, consistent dialgachomp list. Yours needs a lot of techs, slowing you down.
