LostGar Hype Discussion - IN HERE ONLY

Yeah, I could see that being a very good matchup for gigas. The very low pokemon count + the great discarding ability (especially if you play regice) would make it tough to get the 6, I think. Plus the constant drag off disruption. None of those things require the lv x.

Sorry, but you're wrong. One game my sole Regigigas lv x was lost zoned, but the matchup still isn't bad. The first game, I was losing, and then 30+3 went on and he couldn't zone the last 2 Pokemon. I simply discarded Pokemon with Sage's Training, and Junk Arm. Keep in mind that this was the first time I had ever plaeyd the deck, so I wasn't too keen on what to do.

Game 2 ran much more smoothly. Setup a gigas and drag stuff off, take cheap prizes while he seekers crap and lost zones it. Once he wastes 3-4 turns hurling things into darkness and zoning them, I pay heavy attention to my hand and bench. My bench had nothing. My hand, no pokemon. Only thing active was a Gigas X with 4 energy (DCE/DCE). What is Lostagr supposed to do to an active Gigas X with no damage on it? There's nothing they can do. They'd literally need to attack for 5 turns straight, and by then, I would have already taken the remaining prize cards.

Game 3, once I got Gigas X up with no bench, he scooped.

Tl;Dr

Lostgar can do nothing to an active regigigas lv x with no bench or Pokemon in their hand. Also, you just discard all Pokemon. I was at the point in game 2 where it was impossible for him to meet his win condition because I had no more Pokemon left in my deck or hand.

I can understand how regigigas might do decent vs lostgar for sure now, but I dislike how you completely omit it as viable vs regigigas period. Stating that a deck doesn't work period vs another deck based on 3 games is sort of closed-minded in my opinion...

multiply that by ten and then get back to me before you tell anyone they're "wrong"

That and play against the rest of the meta so you can see Gigas isn't a viable solution even if it is a hard counter to Gengar. You'll still be at the bottom tables which leads to a sucky day. Unless of course your whole point of going to tournaments is to beat LostGar.

I actually did not change my build at all. I used my standard deck and beat it. I am positive that Regigigas will do well this states, mark my words!

wait, im confused, are we planning to attack with regigigas? because if we are, there is resistance to take into account.

Does anybody even like Waynegg....?

Oh dear god.

Alex, PLEASE read what you post well before you post it. Let it simmer for like a half hour while you decide whether or not it's actually worth saying.

Gigas vs Lostgar is a bad matchup. It's been discussed in the past because one of the deck's major players has been very sad about having to give it up and has realized that it's not unwinnable. It's still not that great of a matchup, and teching the deck out to make it favorable would ruin you against most other stuff.

I'm going to start actually actively testing in my spare time, so look forward to hearing about my results...

It was a joke, check the sig.

But listen, it really is NOT a bad matchup. Tell me what gengar prime does to an active regigigas with no bench or pokemon in hand? This is achieveable through sages training and junk arm, you dont even need to play regice, just discard him!

Didnt you say stuff about how youd rock states with roserade which would be sooo good?

Actually wasn't that typhlosion? iunno. Don't do to him what I'm chewing him out for.

It is in horribly bad humor. Your sig sounds more like a continuation of that joke, through sarcasm, than anything.

If you have no Pokemon other than Gigas... they can just sit there Cursed Dropping you to death because you can't sac... They can speed up the process with level down, since you aren't hitting them with Mesprit every turn...

If you don't OHKO them, they can retreat and Seeker, too.
