I haven't been able to find a picture of what the cities medals look like or if we even get medals. Just wondering if anyone had a pic or a link. That would be cool. Thanks errbody.

The 2011-2012 City Championship winner trophy item has not been revealed yet. I haven't seen anything to suggest City medals are permanently discontinued. I highly doubt this will happen.

I thought the first week of cities already happened though. Does that mean that people are going to get their trophy items mailed to them or something?

They did that for Regionals last year so I don't think it's out of the question that they're going to get mailed.

I saw they took addresses at my city, not sure what it means... Could've just been press stuff though.

Pretty sure they'll get mailed. Our PTO was taking address and contact information, so it seems really likely

Were any other prizes given out other than the packs / championship points?
if you won or topcutted a cities you should've read the little thing P!P sent to the TO's. something along the lines of, we're sorry for not having awards available at this moment in time. please provide your info and we will send you winners award if we can. least that's what my buddy told me. i didn't top cut so i have to take him for his word.

They did talk about Pokèmon at some point. I know because I read the article. And I was talking about how when the winners got prizes, the TO took their address (I can say it wasn't for press though since my brother said no press, yet got his address taken)

Did your TO say "You get medals", or did they take your information and you just ASSUMED that means medals? Everything I am hearing is 'no medals'.

European OP Coördinators and distributors are informed that there will be no medals this year due to problems in regard to new legislation (and some more reasons). It is all due to Murphy's law into the extend.

I don't mean for this to sound negative against organized play; BUT, why do we not have medals for winners AT tournaments anymore? This has been a problem since States (and I know the earthquake in Japan had something to do with this...or was that 2 seasons ago...), but States 2010 was a long time ago and the only tournament that I have been at since States that has had the medals for the winners was Nats...That makes States, Regionals, Fall Regionals, and now Cities (so far)??? Giving your address to a TO just doesn't compare to putting on a medal right after you win a tournament. Honestly, it's about time OP takes this game as seriously as its players. Think about new players who show up to cities, or a Magic player who decides to play at a tournament with a friend, and they find out that Pokemon doesn't even have the prizes for the3ir tournaments AT their tournaments????? If this game is going to grow, then this is one of the issues that needs to be addressed.

They didn't take down addresses at the one I just finished up. I guess they got the POP ID and Phone # on the media sheet, so I guess they can call/message on pokemon.com to get the address information. (The address is listed in my profile at pokemon.com).

please, stop complaining. they don't need to do anything for you or me or anyone. they can give us nothing if they so pleased, but atleast you're getting something other than an 'atta boy. this is a fun enjoyable card game, the fact that you get anything and that they bother to give it structure should be more than enough. you won the cities, you know you won it, why do you need a medal??? to show it off or to remind you even more that you won??

Why do people collect cards? They could just trade for them and trade them away and say "yeah, i've had every card ever made"
I guess olympic medals shouldnt be made either, get rid of those-just remember what you placed
I cant give my kid a memory of me winning, i can give him a medal from me winning.

My TO said they aren't any metals for cities because the US government made something so that stuff can only have like 10 parts lead out of a million or something and Pokemon couldn't afford to test the medals for lead content and make more or something like that...
