Cities Medals?

Lack of medals?

I'd posit that people who are good enough at Pokémon to win medals aren't going to play a different game because they didn't get a medal as part of winning.


(If there are people who specifically left for this reason, then I'm wrong, and I'd be curious to know who they were. But then I'd say they were an exception and not an indicator of a general trend.)

The lack of communication or timeliness in delivering medals is entirely another issue, and has been suggested before, (hopefully) just a matter of thing going awry....yes perhaps more than once. But I don't believe anyone is intentionally trying to have it happen this way. I believe the people in charge, somewhere, are doing their job to the best of their ability, given constraints and things out of their power.

I am just speaking on the behalf of the people that I have spoke to from around here on why they have moved to other games. I for one don't care if I win medals I just enjoy playing the game it gives me something to do, and allows me to spend time with the local pokemon community. Don't get me wrong I wouldn't mind winning some medals this year, sense I have already won two cities with three more to go. But the lack of communication is a problem though not just for the medals but just in general. I slight headsup or prewarning that something may occur would be nice.
 
I hope they do not wait until after the 2nd regionals to send the medals from the entire season all at once. That would be very disappointing :/
 
The OP management this whole season has been lackluster. It seems like for every step forward, like multiple regionals and champ points ; they have taken 2 steps back. Like dismal promos for league, screw-ups with league rosters, making little kids everywhere wait for their due rewards, T4 cut at massive fall battleroads, and I could go on.

Before people start bashing this post for not being understanding, ask yourself this question - How long have they had to iron these things out? I know that changes to the ranking structure may take a bit of tweaking, but most of the rest should be settled business. 5-6 years should be plenty of time to set a framework for rewards and prizes. Tournament structures too. And to top it all off,; we STILL have no OFFICIAL notice regarding the subject of this thread.

my guess is exactly what tarheel bivens doesn't want, they're prolly just waiting for the bulk of the season to be over and the sending the medals, it will save them on shipping, in theory, so that's what i'm guessing. and yeah dismal promos for league sux...like even a pokeball is better than what we got...
 
If only we could get chase versions of pokeball.... Oh, wait!...:lol:

It's not TPCi's fault if there are some silly new laws in the US that prevent them from giving out or shipping the medals they made in advance. You can't blame them for the delay. But yes, there should be some information. As long as we get medals or something similar for Premier events in all countries, it's ok for me, even if it is after Regionals - it would only be very disappointing if we're not going to get them at all.

What makes me unsure is that they didn't ask for our addresses in Europe... but maybe they'll use the new placement upload on pokemon.com to ship them.
 
Where are people getting that there will be Medals for cities? We did not get any such information from Pokemon when our cities kits came this year.

2) There have been medals since at least 2004
3) some locations have collected addresses, some even of 1st to 3rd (while everything else indicates that only the 1st gets something)
4) wouldn't it be a little strange if there were extra rewards for Battle Roads but not for Cities and Regionals?

1) "Award", not "Medal"
2) States and Regionals had Trophies up until last year. But you're right, things never change.
3) They need an address to send whatever the "Award" it to, again, says nothing about a medal.
4) Wouldn't it be a little strange if this was answered in 1 and 3?
 
From Dave Schwimmer's Facebook page:

City Championships awards are finally complete, and shipping next week. Regionals awards are at our office and will be hand shipped by the OP team to avoid any errors in shipping. These will take slightly longer but we will do our best to expedite this.

International awards will be shipping to distributors and then will be shipped to winners. Please give us some more time on those.

Thank you for all of your patience on this issue, we think we've finally solved the issues we were encountering and should (fingers crossed) no longer encounter problems with getting these produced on time.

Just recieved my City Award today. I do have to admit it was worth the wait! They are just like the old states Glass etchings. Its smaller and says City Championships with the year on them. Amazing hopefully they continue this.
