OK, I know you all have been awaiting this....

On Saturday January 19th the Mississippi Valley Regionals will be hosted at the St. Charles Convention Center.

This is a NATIONALS type venue, with an attached hotel, other hotels very close, and just a superior place to be.

We are expecting a MONSTER crowd, and you will get from this Regional what you have come to expect.

A Tournament Run Professionally, and timely, with elite staff with Nationals and Worlds Experience.

You will also get...

Side events that are second to none, including, and we will add to this later...Pokemon League, Art Contest, Who's That Pokemon Contest, Cake/Cookie Walk, Pokeball Games that you have come to expect, and one that has NEVER been done before....

This is a Pokemon FESTIVAL for the weekend, Saturday.

There will be vendors on the site to buy cards, sell cards and supplies, including sleeves and dice, and single cards.

Registration will start at 8:30 am and last until 10:00 am. for Saturday for the TCG. (Trading Card Game)

On Sunday, January 20th, Registration times are TBA for Video Game!!!

Frankly, I can't wait to see you all there. More superior announcements to follow!!!

Oh, and yes, 75 minutes per match for top cut for all top cut rounds for TCG. See, I listen, studied it, and decided to change.

I'm excited.

If we can get some more playtesting in to finalize the rules, perhaps we can unveil "Adventure Draft" to the world.
 
I'm excited this will be my first major tournament besides 2009 nats outside the MI, OH, IN are. Excited to see everyone there
 
is there any word of being Winter VGC tournament at all?

other than that If i can find a ride (from players in my area) i'll go
 
This is me officially volunteering for Staff duty. Wherever you need me, Vince, that's where I'll be.

I'm also going to be bringing down my new media recording and streaming center. You'll get to see some of the results at the upcoming Cities. You tell me what areas you want recorded, and I'll get those down.
 
January 20th will be the Winter VGC Regional Championship Event at this location for the Mississippi Valley Region!

YES there will be VGC.

Staff lists and solicits will start going out in a few weeks.

The two closest hotels are the Embassy and the Fairfield. The Embassy is attached, and the Fairfield seems to be about a 5 minute walk from the center (if that far). From everything I can see, the Fairfield is the less expensive option, and has free internet (not sure on the speed). Both have free breakfast according to Hotwire. The Fairfield can probably be had for $67 a night through Hotwire, while the Embassy looks to be $97 on Hotwire. You'll probably find both cheaper when the tournament date is a bit closer. Or when Vince confirms some kind of deal with either or both places.

Based completely on the map, there's a Cracker Barrel across the street.

Dunno what else there is around there. But expect the standard hotel restaurant. Maybe a concession stand in the Center itself.
 
There are multiple concession stands in the venue which will be set up. There are a LOT of food options within a mile or so of the venue. The venue does not allow outside food brought in, but there is a lot of space around to relax and eat.

I am geared up for this event, and can't wait to start finalizing the plans, and letting you all know what is coming.

We are going to have a major charity event in conjunction with this Regional, where everyone is going to win.

All you other January Regionals, be prepared for a challenge coming your way from the heartland.

On the website that have many linked, don't know which is the attached one
 
Sadly, due to military school, I probably won't be able to get a deck together. I love going to these events though, and I'll try to show up just for the awesome times
