Any update on the room rate for the Embassy? I just called and reserved two rooms and they said they didn't have anything for the Pokemon Tournament.
 
Hotels, Finally :)

Hi Everyone,
I finally was able to get some hotel rates for everyone, that didn't require me to guarantee a specific number of rooms. Yea! So here you go! The Event is at the St. Charles Convention Center. The address there is One Convention Center Plaza, St. Charles, Missouri 63303.

We have discounted rates at the Embassy Suites (which is connected to the Convention Center), and the Fairfield Inn (which is in walking distance)
For both hotels these rates are good for the days leading up to and after the event.

Embassy Suites:

Just an FYI, I called literally 5 minutes after this was posted and was told that the Embassy Suites had already sold out of the Friday night block. The rate is still discounted to $139, but not the $119 that you mentioned.

Saturday night still had rooms for $119.

I just called them back! They are opening some more rooms up. She asked that you give them about 10 minutes then call back. You can also call the Group Room Coordinator, April Calloway at 636-866-0148 is her direct line.
They should keep opening Blocks of rooms as they are needed until they are sold out.

If you reserved for one day, you can call April and she will be able to get you in for both days.

There are multiple concession stands in the venue which will be set up. There are a LOT of food options within a mile or so of the venue. The venue does not allow outside food brought in, but there is a lot of space around to relax and eat.

I am geared up for this event, and can't wait to start finalizing the plans, and letting you all know what is coming.

We are going to have a major charity event in conjunction with this Regional, where everyone is going to win.

All you other January Regionals, be prepared for a challenge coming your way from the heartland.

For anyone who needs to book last minute; Hotels.com has quite a few open rooms and suites!!! They range from $109 a night for a room and $139 a night for a suite!! :D

Here is the challenge.

We are leaving the holiday season, where we still have issues in this country where the winters are cold, and people are still hungry.

We enjoy taking time out of our lives to enjoy this card game with family and friends, and I think this would be a GREAT opportunity to give a little bit back to the community.

Everyone does food drives around Christmas, and Thanksgiving, but people are needy and hungry year round. I would like to think that we, as a community can help with this.

Therefore, the principal vendor to this Regional - Yeti Gaming, is setting up a food drive where everyone who donates will be guaranteed something for their donation. There will be special door prizes randomly given, which will include a 2012 Worlds Double Deck Box, Japanese Deck Boxes, Packs, Pokemon Figures, and all sorts of good stuff.

All food and donations will be sent to one or more local food banks in the St. Louis and St. Charles Community.

I would love to see a great turnout for this appeal.

I challenge my friends from the great NorthWest, and all other winter regionals to encourage their vendors to collect more than the St. Louis area folks. I'll think of a clever wager to put on the line later. I'm not risking my hair on this one!!!
