Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Worlds 2008 Location Discussion

I'm fairly positive that it won't be in Indy.

GenCon is in Indy around the same time as Worlds is every single year, and PUI has made a considerable effort to avoid having Worlds at GenCon every year they have had it. I doubt they'll change their stance now, four years after they decided not to have it there.

Don't get me wrong. I'd *LOVE* to have it in Indy, Chicago, Milwaukee, or Rockford. Out of those, only Chicago has a real shot at getting it (Sry, Camille, I absolutely LOVE what you've done for the game, but Chicago is a bigger city for the big event), and I seriously doubt that they'd have *anything* in Chicago in the near future...

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS!!!!!
OK, it is a little home bias but we do have FIesta Texas with a water park, Sea World, Downtown with many attractions like riverwalk and nightlife. But the best thing is Rudy's BAR BBQ. With so many Hotels and convention space downtown it would be the spot along with the Rivercenter mall connected to the Marroit Hotel.

hummm, i'd like:

Somewhere in Western Europe (Maybe France or Germany), Australia or Brazil (okay, its "home", but would be nice imo).

I'm happy this year is in Hawaii, but Outside USA would be awesome.

I wouldn't mind seeing it in Chicago.

But San Antonio would be great. All the things Double Trouble said plus a road trip to Schlitterbahn! Boo yah!

nah, lets all go to Vegas... LOL

i know it will never happen as Vegas is not Kid orientated, but still an idea

For what I think they can do with the event, I would like to see Seattle - the savings for travel for the staff alone could make it a real blow out Poke-festival.

Anaheim was a lot of fun too. I would go back to there or San Diego in heartbeat.

Florida, with the late summer weather, may be a bit tricky. anyone from 2004 will agree we got LUCKY diving between two hurricanes.

Gulf coast of Texas has the same concerns, as does the South East coast of the US.

Baltimore, Maryland could be a lot of fun....good city, with a lot of stuff really close to it!

We shall see. We shall see.

I went to the hotel right next to the hilton that worlds was held in a week early!:frown:

My feeling is this - If Worlds is not in the Continental US next year, Pokemon starts losing significant numbers of players.

Future sites of Worlds:

Mexico
Cancun, Cozumel has great beaches, food, reasonably priced. . .

Japan: to give us Americans a good excuse to finally get there and do lots of Pokemon shopping.

Seattle, WA

Houston, TX

I also love the idea of a cruise. They travel out of Houston, Florida, San Diego, NYC, etc. Hold the grinder the night before the sailing. . . .

I'd love to see Japan or Australia or Europe or the Mediterranean. I really hope it's not held in N. America again.

if it were in amsterdam i'd go and stay a month.
 I remember in 04 it was in FLR. To bad I couldnt go to that one. I wouldnt mind it being there again. TX,CA,HA,FLR, NY, Idianapolis, are good for me. I dont think they'll put us in like in the middle of the US or like in a cold climate area.
