Worlds 2008 Location Discussion

I know someone will correct me on this, but wasn't the first Pokemon Worlds tournament (Japan only) called Grand Party or something. It was held on a train , but i can't recall any details.

Anyone know what I am talking about?
 
I suggest that we hold worlds in Rwanda.

If you don't die or become the leader of Rwanda, then congratulations, you've made the top cut.
 
It will never be in Florida again.

Here are a few reasons why:

1. Way too hot and humid. The climate is unbearable in the summertime, especially to people not used to Florida.
2. Hurricanes. August is right in the middle of hurricane season, and they can't risk having a huge event, planned months in advance ruined on short notice by something uncontrollable.
 
I would like to see it in Germany or Australia.

If it was in Australia...We could ride Kangaroos to Ayers Rock and then catch a ride with the Koala's to the Great Barrier Reef and have a pool party with Nemo and Dory who live there.

There are so many possibilities :O
 
There is no way they would bring it outside of the U.S. because of cost concerns. It was already an unwise decision to put it in Hawaii because of cost. It will most likely be on the west coast again because of the cost. It is close to Japan and of course its close the the main fanbase.

i dont really care where it is so thats its econonmical. i mean going to cool places is fun,but unless you save up all year to treat this event like a vacation,like people used to do, its just not gonna happen. i mean even when i went to some place like florida and disney world, i didnt really get alot of time to do anything any way. i mean if i won into worlds odds were i wasnt going to see any of beyond playing pokemon. that aside with the way things are now, making it to worlds is pretty much impossible as a vacation. i mean most famililies or travel buddies would go if one person won into worlds, and the others would go along for the fun. now though just making it into worlds through any invite, you either spend your money getting an invite through rating by traveling alot of places, not mentioning lodging if you do that and gas money. also to win into worlds by nationals is spending money that could of went to worlds on the nationals trip. overall if its another exotic place odds are even less people will go. i know alot of people are going but most of them will be bumming it until they go home because they dont have any more money to do anything different. overall if the place is economical i will be happy. if you want exotic extravigant places then give out more invites or more incentive to keep on playing, like what ever happened to invites but you have to pay your own way to get there. or at least one other event to get an invite to worlds. because right now we will be seeing less players but a bigger percentage of american players competing in worlds than before, unless only japan grinds in, which isnt impossible.

That sounds like a blast and id attend if Baltimore would host it. The covention center sounds great. Candem yards sounds like a great place to go for a baseball game after the long worlds day and the whole city sounds really nice. If i could pick that would be my next spot. Plus it would quiet alot of the east coast banter and arguing with why worlds never really visits the upper east coast. There you go,middle of the road location with no problems to get there for most upper mid west and upper east coast players. Plus is gives the west coast crew who goes a piece of east coast flavor :)

San Antonio
Utah (don't qoute me on this one lol)
anywhere in Co or around Colorado (it would be for the best...)
Italy would be REALLY cool.. thats wat I am guessing...
