A Day Making Coffee (4-2 Masters) - Surrey, BC

This report is dedicated to Simon, a super league leader and all-around awesome guy. Apparently these tournament reports have become somewhat of an addiction and, due to my recent inactivity, he has been suffering from withdrawal. I have been away from the competitive scene due to the fact that...

    Double Hypnotoxic?

An interesting situation came up today. I had two hypnotoxics and a bicycle in hand. I wanted to play both hypnotoxics and use the bicycle for maximum effect. However, on my first hypnotoxic, I flipped heads. In this situation, would I be allowed to play the second hypnotoxic?

New player with GF and 5 year old son!

For learning decks you can start with a relatively flat build (20 pokemon, 20 T/S/S, and 20 energies). Very quickly you'll see that energies will be the first things to cut, especially if you have strong draw supporters. However, for a young child, it will be very tempting to shove more and more...

Hm...Langley...I guess I'll have to see how I do in Surrey first

    Bellossom/Jellicent ??

Definitely relegated to fun decks, but I know a lot of people are trying to find a way to use Vileplume's x4 weakness ability in some way. It's just too bad that the current meta is too wide and varied to make it easy

    The New Charmander

Charmander's attack isn't bad for early game...but once you lose your first and/or second Charizard, you're pretty out of recovery options. Running a support Pokemon like Eels with Charizard really isn't the answer either since Eels pairs much better with other pokemon and if you want to do a S1...

    Town Map: Advantages/Disadvantages?

It's not a terrible card, but it lacks the oomph to get it out of the 61st card slot. Almost always, you'd want to run a consistency card over Town Map...which should solve almost all prizing problems except one-off techs

    Darkrai/Hydreigon Deck Help for Cities

If you're looking for cards to cut for Eviolites, you should be able to run the deck with only 3 Catchers, 3 Patches, and 3 Max Potions. To be honest, I'd cut a Max Potion first since it is most likely to be a dead card in hand for your first few Junipers. Running only 4 Juniper, 4 N and 2 RR...

    My new deck Keldeo/Blastoise/ladorus

Definitely toss in Blend in lieu of fighting. Or try Prism, which will let you tech in some interesting Pokemon. I think one Mewtwo is fine for late game stuff. Not sure how useful a single Landorus would be since it'll be unlikely for you to have it and an appropriate energy in the early game

    Boundaries Crossed

Yea, I opened a box's worth of codes (36 packs) and saw that thing were probably messed up. Overall, I got 6 EXs, 2 Ace Specs, and some other stuff. From the pack spread I could see that things were kind of messed up but in the end I think it balanced out. I got a lot of really bad packs and a...

6-1 with Tex Mex (Masters, Vancouver BC)

The First Battle Roads Living in Vancouver, I had the wonderful opportunity to grind into Worlds without worrying about travel expenses and accommodation. My wife already decided that she would rather volunteer and help out at the even than play competitively this season and I decided to not...
