Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

2006 Nationals Championship

The problem with most US players is that they think there are virtually none or very few good players intl. Therefore they assume US Nats have bigger competition than Worlds.

How many US players will be at Worlds? Around 60 per age group IIRC. Sure maybe some good players were left out, but those 60 players are what USA has to offer. And those 60 best US players will be competing along with best players from other Nations, who are more than likely better than most of those US players, that did not earn an invite. Therefore Worlds is tougher to win than US nats.

LCQ FTW. 8 slots only. Toughest tourney all year long. And the international ppl can play in it too!

I would much rather take my chances T32'ing @ Worlds agst 128 ppl than T32 @ Nats with 313 people playing. Odds are just more in your favor. When a few 5-3s make topcut @ Worlds and only 4 6-3s make topcut at Nats......NUFF SAID!

Please, Keith, don't use statistics or logic here. We won't stand for it.

ROFL Ryan. I know......it just doesn't sink in. Of course, I'm just some "nooB" judge who doesnt know how to play. (Oooops.....I forgot, I did T4 at the only GC I played in....not bad since I only got to play in 1 CCs too all year.....Judging everywhere else!)

Yes I agree wit DCPD who agrees with Mew who agrees with Jeremy who agrees with 'ma.

Most US players think their invincible to the rest of the World.

I hope an International Country sweeps Worlds to prove to the US players they can compete and make US players shut up about not enough invites when we have the best players.

International FTW

oh man, WHAT an event! 9 rounds was pretty insane. I don't think I could have done it AND done the first round of top 32 if they had it the same night. There was a lot of good players at Nationals, and I thank everyone who I was able to play. A big thanks goes out to all the judges and helpers that took their time to make the event what it was. I had so much fun playing in the league and playing in the pick-up tournaments. Thank you everyone for putting on such a great event all four days!

All the people I played were very skilled and I thank you all for the fun games.

All the people I got to hang out with, thank you so much. Friends is what makes this game, and that is very obvious at a big event like Origins. I wish I could have spent more time with all my friends, but everything has to come to an end. To all my friends, to all the people I met and exchanged words with, and to all my opponents who I played at Nationals, please accept a huge thanks for playing a part in my life even for just a few minutes.

Hopefully I will see everyone again next year!
