Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

2010 - 2011 S/P/T Winner Medals Arriving!

Fine..............................

Just another sign of the downward spiral Pokemon is on. It's been over a month since my daughter went undefeated at her regionals, and still no medal.

How a multi-billion dollar company like TPCI doesn't have the $50 or so to have these pewter medals at the tournaments is beyond all our comprehension. I'll be glad when Nationals is over so we can move on to MTG...........

Multi-billion dollar? Really? I think you over estimate TPCI. A lot.

Anywho, you guys really want more than medals? Olympic athletes only get medals, and you want "Something better" for playing a children's card game?

Since your response wants to equate Pokemon medals to the Olympic medals, then lets compare how totally foolish your comment is.

First off, nowhere did I say that I wanted more than medals. The point was that if TPCI wants to cut corners and hand out pewter medals to the winners, then the least they could do is have the awards at the events to give to the players. Do the Olympic athletes have to wait for their medals in the mail?

Second. Pokemon is owned and operated by Nintendo, which is a MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY. If TPCI is such a separate entity, then why are we waiting for medals to be shipped from overseas? If TPCI is such a separate entity, then why wait 3-6 months for cards from Japan when we can just make our own Pokemon right here in our backyard.

The answer is TPCI does answer to the boys in Japan (NINTENDO), and Nintendo is a MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY. And if TPCI wants the parents and kids to continue to shell out BILLIONS of dollars for their Games, Cards, Movies, and Merchandise, shouldn't the consumer expect just a little bit more than pewter medals that we've been waiting for in the mail for over two months now?

Third: Do you really want to compare what the market value of an Olympic Medal is compared to a Pokemon Medal? REALLY??

If Pokemon is such a "kids game", why do you announce your rating(see signature) like it's some badge of honor that you worked so hard to attain? My daughter has over 120+ points more than you do, yet my "kid" doesn't go prancing around like some Pokemon geek announcing her score for all to see.

Next time you want to quote my post and respond with such nonsence, do us all a favor and think twice next time.

And no, because you're quoting yourself doesn't mean your cool. It means nobody else is listening.........

I understand that you don't like the medals but I think that you may not have a clear idea of our relationship with the fine folks at Nintendo. Neither here nor there really as it does not matter who we work with if you don't like the prizes we offer, but I figured I would point that out.

Thanks for the feedback though. :thumb:

Although I too preferred the glass trophies, I thought that the medals were exceptional quality (nice and heavy). Either way, I was glad to get something as a prize - I don't think many other card games offer these types of souvenirs.

I know YOU did not say that, I wasn't talking to YOU. I said "you guys", not "@pokemaster1970".

No... You did that...

1. Not every one lives in the US (which is, BTW the only country to even have regionals) and I'm sure I could of gone undefeated and gotten a hefty rating boost if there was a regionals within 3000 miles of my house -_- 2. Thats no my rating, my ratings slightly higher. 3. There is NO POINT comparing ratings from the US to ratings outside the US (post- regionals anyway) 4. I'm not "like some Pokemon geek" I AM a Pokemon geek. And if your here you most likely are too.

So now your just insulting me? I'm surprised you didn't criticize my bad grammar to -.-

Replies in BOLD

EDIT: Thank you Punisher, I was gonna some of the points you mentioned but I was short on time and you put them better than I could anyway lol.

Wow it seems like someone has temper problems here. First of all, you called him a "pokemon geek," tell me if you are not a so called "pokemon geek," what are you doing here then? what are you doing socializing with these people, why do you take the time to come to this website and make comments, why are you so interested in the game if you are not a "pokemon geek." You cannot called someone something and criticize them while you are in the same boat.

Now you are saying that he uses his rating as a way to show people what he has accomplished, as if it was a badge. Well let me tell you something, he did it himself, you didn't do it did you? And let me emphasize the word himself, because that rating; the one he is using as a "badge," was gotten by his effort, at least he is not using his daughter's accomplishments or victories to show how "good" he is. I saw your other post, " my daughter went undefeated at regionals" what are you trying to gain by this, are you being a "pokemon geek" announcing your daughter's accomplishment, not yours but your daughter's who is in juniors i presume.

And it seem like you were listening, because you took some time to noticed it and commented about it, just saying.

Peace.

Every real card game (YGO, MTG, Naruto, etc.) all give out trophies and other such prizes.
Uhm... I only play Magic besides Pokémon, and there are neither trophies nor medals at events with similar size as Pokémon SPTCs.

btw, any idea when Europe gets the medals?
As long as I don't have mine, I can't really say whether I like them or not.

My TO already got them.

Do you have an SPT or City medal to compare those to in the same frame? It looks pretty impressive, but it'd be nice to have a good comparison. Thx!

Apparently I have no Medal whatsoever: I can't compare them, sadly.

One word: PWN'D

Anyway, I didn't get a medal but you can't really complain too much. Some people sometimes expect too much from TPCi. I think you should be grateful we actually get something from them.
