How is it strictly American? It affected people in other countries too. The OP is not from the US, and types the date as he typically would in Europe. If we really have to make people happy, we can add 9/11 to the topic to make everyone happy.

Well, considering that this is an American forum, someone probably should add that to.
 
so much people in my classes have parents and family who were in the building and servived but there were like outside and stuff...
 
man, I remember this tragic day 7 years ago.

I woke up to my radio saying that one of the towers has fallen. I hit snooze cause i was still groggy, and I thought I was hearing things. 9 MInutes later, the radio is still saying that a tower fell. we were under attack.

I woke up, went downstairs and turned on the TV and my jaw hit the floor. I was amazed and astonished. I was able to watch the 2nd tower fall on the TV. I really didnt want to go into work that day either.

I will NEVER forget the day in which thousands of people lost their lives.
I will NEVER forget the brave firefighters who risked their lives to save the people from the rubble.
I will NEVER forget the brave policemen and policewomen who risked their lives to save the people from the rubble.
I will NEVER forget the brave men and women of the coast guard who risked their lives to save the people from the rubble.
I will NEVER forgive the cowardly people who thought they could get away with this.
I will NEVER forget what happened that day,

If we do forget... the next thing we see may be a mushroom cloud....

R.I.P. NYPD, NYFD, NYCG (and all other FD, PD, CG) You are missed, but not forgotten.

I know what you mean. There were like 7 stories about people that were supposed to be there but weren't in my English class. One was because of a leak, another because their car broke down on the way to the airport, and a few more.

I wonder if it was fate or just coincidences.

all I know is when the time comes which aint far off, I will be prepared and the rest of you will be under a rock wondering whats going on.
 
I think this has gotten off topic this thread is to remember all those lost in 9/11 or 11/9 whatever. Set up or not, thank God it happened b/c although lots of people died it made us realize that we are not invincible. I loved to see every car on my block with an American flag, it was a beautiful thing. It made us realize that we are one team. We have been blessed to grow up and be the most powerful country in the world, and I may only be a reservist in the Navy, but I would gladly risk my life everyday to support what this country stands for. God bless America and may those people who died on 9/11 rest in peace.

I don't agree with the whole thank God it happened, but I do remember that time of unity and patriotism right after the attacks. That feeling has never left me... I am very proud to be an American. 9/11 is the reason I got involved in politics. It happened when I was a freshman in high school and it really made me start paying attention to things.
