Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

A tech against Blissey (MT)

A Groudon EX is able to one-shot Blissey, even without Lake Boundary. And it's a basic with 100 HP (perfect for Holon Mentor).

Am I mistaken in recognizing that a former tech might be a possible option, especially in Fire Starter decks (whom can easilly provide the 2 energy to discard for Groudon and use something simple like Holon's Castform for the Fighting Energy)?

I find Meganium d with Lake Barrier as a great way to beat many Blissey builds. You hit them for 80 and all damage they do to you next turn is reduced by 30. Meaning that their boost energy just because nothing. Now, this doesn't work against the decks that run WP+Water energy or the ones that can retreat very easily, but I'd say it works for some varients (Blissey/Electivire for instance).

I don't think many Blissey varients can actually run and use Holon FF, can they? Maybe Blissey/Delcatty could, but Blissey/Electivire, Blissey/Raichu, Blissey/Sceptile, Blissey/Exegguttor couldn't.

Pure Blissey can run Holon FF just fine ... and it really helps against Mario ... but I find that Holon WP helps against more of the field overall.

That's about all I see too Rainbowgym. Mirro and Krick ER2 is annoying but IMHO not game breaking. Pure Lucario could be a problem though.

It's worth noting again that Mario can eat Blissey alive if it runs Battle Frontier & Scott in addition to the normal 3 Cess.

Some Blissey lists don't even bother with Blissey's power, the same way people didn't play Roselia LM for its body last season. Blissey is a great card that just happens to have a neat power. The power is by no means essential to any Blissey deck strategies, it's just useful and tends to give you a small hand advantage. I've seen lists that just run 4-4 Bliss, maybe a couple techs like Sableye or Lickitung, and 4 cessation. I've also seen lists that run Electivire: play a cessation or battle frontier and you're basically just feeding the Lv.X's attack. Oops.

there's one amazing tech against bliss that i figured out....... no joke.

Anyone goin to lexington BR's will see it and queenhatter players will love it.

If you say Claydol EX, it's not funny anymore.

(You'd need your opponent to have 8 energies on the blissey to one shot with Claydol. Whoops. Might as well just use two attacks from a Nidoqueen MT, as your opponent won't have a larger bench then you unless it's Electivire, and Blissey will almost never have the 11 energy to one shot Nidoqueen)
