The use of dice in this product is an incredible milestone in the game. For a very long time, dice were an accomidation before finally becoming an accepted second to coins. This product is selling dice to be used for coin-flipping and dice to be used as damage counters. Not to mention it is a product aimed at encouraging a competitive playerbase.

Maybe the coin-flip die will be like the Japanese Pikachu die?

What'd be cool is if each Pokemon "fat pack" had energy cards with unique art on them, so not only would you be getting energy, but you'd be getting energy only available from the "fat packs".

Awesomely awesome. I well most certainly buy this. That is if it doesn't sell out first. This is gonna fly off the shelves like a squirrel in a convenience store. (Whatever that meant )

Excited for this product, it's overall good.

I just hope that the dice are more like the State Dice that some pto's ordered, and not like the Pikachu or Pokeball dice. Those things aren't sufficient randomizers and should be banned, so I hope these dice are nothing like those two.

nic elooking product, i'll be adding one straight off with my order and depending what all it comes with (When confirmed on arrival and opened it) may get another.

Seems nice.. if it is not so pricey.. i might buy one for myself

What basis do you have for that claim? I would agree that the size of those particular dice makes them liable to be manipulated, but there is no real basis for the claim that they are not sufficient.

The ratio of size/weight to the relative "unroundedness" of the corners make them easier to manipulate than the typical smaller dice with much more rounded corners.

They are still defined as "sufficient" randomizers by the rulebook, although the rulebook also defines Pokemon coins as "sufficient" randomizers (tsk tsk). Sufficiency of randomization as defined by the Pokemon rulebook does not correlate highly with difficulty of manipulation.

Any chance of a non-Facebook picture/video?
I have zero interest in joining Facebook.

Sounds like a great idea, and I will surely get one as long as the price is good.

So now both of those threads about alternates to starter decks/ways of getting energy can be locked!

It's also listed on T&T now, but at the regular price of $34.99. ToyWiz has it on pre-order sale for $29.99.

For seven packs, energy, and the other stuff, seems like a fair price.

IN CANADA im expecting $39.99 at walmart/toysrus. $30 at the least at the comic stores. cheaper than a prerelease.
Not much of price difference up here between Walmart and ToysRus in Vancouver, B.C.

MSRP is $34.99. Official description is as follows:

All battle-hardened Trainers want to be recognized as formidable foes—and now they can be with the Pokémon TCG: Elite Trainer Box! The Elite Trainer Box comes complete with essential items a Trainer needs for an edge in competition, as well as Pokémon TCG booster packs and 40 Energy cards, all in a package sure to let opponents know they’re in for the battle of their lives! You have the talents and the training—now you have the tools to take your game to another level!

In each Elite Trainer Box you will find:
• 7 Pokémon TCG: Black & White—Plasma Storm booster packs
• 40 Pokémon TCG Energy cards
• 2 acrylic condition markers
• 6 damage-counter dice
• A competition-legal coin-flip die
• A player’s guide
• A deckbox
• A collector’s box to hold everything

I'd be happier at $30. That's what T&T is selling the Return to Rav FP at. But they're also selling the M13 FP at $35. And Avacyn is at $39. $35 is probably fair, but I'd much prefer to see $30 for this thing.

Unlike tins, you're getting much more than just the booster packs and container, so it makes sense to pay a little more.
