I might not be able to get this due to the price. As said before, I don't think 5 energy for each type will be enough. As for the Player's Guide, I hope that it contains competitive decks in there to play or watch for and not some stupid How To Play Rulebook that they put in every theme deck in existence. I like the dice idea ans I hope that works out as dice are 10 times better than coins and damage counters. The acrylic condition markers might be awesome versions of the standard Poison and Burn markers. The main thing about it are the packs. You get 7 of the newest set. This is a good deal for newer players but if the Player's Guide does not contain any useful information for Competitive players, I might skip it.

Five energy is plenty. I wish it was more, but the idea is that you get access to "extra" energy. The way it is now, "casual drafting" of pokemon is impossible. Deck building alone is strenuous for new players. Now, there will be tons of energy floating around and you can trade/buy what you need easily. Also, "player's guide" doesn't mean "current metagame scoop."

On another note, I see a few surfacing on ebay for $40 out the door. Bit more than I would like to see honestly, especially with only 7 packs. At that price, I would rather just buy 7 packs and use the dice I have.
